(FMP PC = Tulasi) - Writing from Melbourne Australia

Hare Krishna Gurumaharaj

Please accept my humble obeisances.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

HpS/ASA - AgtSP! So nice to hear from you!!! Sorry that it has taken us 3-days to answer, but all weekend now we have strong programs.

Praying to Lord Nityananda and Giriraj for spiritual intelligence to be able to approach you with the right service attitude, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare !!!

HpS - We are pretty simple people, so guess you will have the proper attitude. Thank you.

In the FMP of today (for you in South America) via gotomeeting, we inquired from you; how we can get a " flying carpet", the one that could be an efficient transportation for you, so you would agreed to visit again the Down Under land - Australia, in this life time.

In a hopeful mood we attempt to follow your instruction, inquiring from you. Please Gurumaharaj, would you consider visiting Australia, it is closer to India.

For another hand, while writing to you the suppressed confronting emotions are surfacing.

Probably, like some devotees I am struggling in digest, and realise your teachings, specially when you speak about winding up, and leaving your body in 2024. The time is passing very quickly; it is unavoidable to experience anxiety, desperation, fear and at the same time, the utmost respect, gratitude, admiration toward you; appreciating how you have been guiding us in all aspect with your exemplary spiritual life (highly qualified), your teachings (words and actions) and now, the lesson on how to leave the body in Krishna consciousness.

Gratitude and admiration are overwhelming making our heart happy, because we understand a bit, that Krishna's and Srila Prabhupada's causeless mercy are giving us the great fortune to have H. H. Hanumat Presak Swami's loving association, (his guidance, care and example).

Words are falling short in this context, how to express our overwhelming experience of a glimpse, awareness of your spiritual greatness and at the same time knowing that soon you are going to leave.

Alas, you are preparing us, giving us the opportunity to uplift our consciousness, learning to associate with you in a higher level, going beyond physical limitations. Is this not another display of your ' True Love' that your compassionate and caring heart is doing for us?.

Nevertheless, our heart experiences a lot of anxiety too. Oh, Krishna!! Gurumaharaj is going to leave!!!.. we have heard about it since long time ago, but we suppressed it in my unconscious mind, not wanting to face it, but now it is not possible to avoid it; it is just in font of us.. Oh Krishna,.. help us to grow in acceptance, imbibe it and rise up strong from there, thanks to the spiritual nourishment that it is offering to us.

Please forgive me for this outburst, i could not control it.

I fully trust that you will understand it better than myself.

Thank you Gurumaharaj

Your servant

Madhumanjari dd

HpS - Hare Krsna. We always focus on how much Srila Prabhupada's disciples felt pain upon his departure, but what about Srila Prabhupada's pain? Is interesting, no? Did he even feel more pain than they in leaving his "beloved American and European sons and daughters"?

Of course, Odana sasthi, 2024 is like a best estimate, a joke at talking about anything so much under superior control with exact dates. We see, and I suspect you also, that we can die at any point.

"Oh, didn't you hear! Hp Swami died yesterday! He was in the middle of writing a letter to one of his disciples in Australia and had a heart attack!"

Maybe we'll be stuck here until 2034. (Ayeeee!).

How many more years do you have? One hundred? Fifty? Twenty-five? Fifteen?

Is good to make a practical estimate and then look at our mission in this life as it has developed?

asa(e) - Uncle Gismo,

Magic Carpets:

Guru Das asked Srila Prabhupada what we would do after we had made this whole world Krsna conscious and there was no more preaching here, and Srila Prabhuapda smiled and answered that the Sannyasis would get on their flying carpets and go to other planets to preach.

https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/2/7/37/ seems to indicate that flying carpets are quite possible.

Second class option is good flight from India to Australia, traveling companion, and/or priority processing through immigration and customs. That is the killer! One hour standing in line for immigration before leaving.

Or we all meet in Radha Kunda instead with Divya svaroop Das and Jaga mohan.

I want so much to be accepted in Vrndavana as a simple citizen by Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami.

Respects to all.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada

All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga:

Please accept my humble obeisances dear Gurudev, I wish you a happy Damodara month.

I wanted to ask you if you are doing any treatment for your tired eyes? Have you tried placing cucumber slices or aloe vera leaves cut in half and without thorns, placed on the closed eyelids?

HpS - The best treatment is to look at Radha Mandana bihari and not to work hard. Then they are fine.

Thank you for your blessings to be able to sing the rounds, it really is magic. I have not chanted the rounds for a long time and now I sing every morning, I am amazed by the blessings of the spiritual master.

HpS - ASA - AgtSP!!!!!

In this month of November we are going to visit the devotee who has the deities of Jaganatha, Baladeva and Subhadra to see if he can lend them to us for the Ratha Yatra, I think there will be no problems.

I am writing to you on November 5 at 1:49 in the morning, I will sing a few rounds and then you rested a bit, I have finished digging the wallipini. I am growing cherry tomatoes, butter lettuce, round tomatoes, bell peppers, peas and soon I will plant other vegetables.

With Radha JPJ and Gopal we are offering our wicks to Damodara every day, in the morning and in the afternoon.

It is a shame that we cannot go to see it, but it is sure that it is in our hearts.

I am very happy that I am in Peru with the devotees there, they have a good heart.

You asked me about my relationship with the neighbors, I have a relationship of respect and cordiality, they are generally good people.

I don't have much news to tell, dear Gurudev, I have a fairly routine life. Now I am building the house bathroom that has no roof and no door, you can see the stars while taking a bath😄

With no further news to report, my best feelings for you,

Please forgive any offense committed in this letter inadvertently.

Your would-be servant: Bhakta Franco

HpS - So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, ..... so, so, so, ............... nice to hear from you.

asa[e] - Rathayatra

You news is very, very enlivening. Srila Prabhupada gave so much emphasis on Rathayatra.

Our God sister, Keli-lalita Devi Das, saw a poster advertising Rathayatra in San Francisco n Golden Gate Park. She went with her husband and it was attractive: Beautiful carts, Jagannatha, dramas, many nice booths, Prasdam and a devotee sold here a book.

She said that she took it home, read a little bit and put it in here bookshelf and probably would have never read it again.

The next day or so she was driving from San Francisco to Santa Cruz in the mountains in her Volkswagon Beetle with her husband as passenger.

The steering wheel came off!

Car crashed and she was tossed out.

Car caught on fire and her clothes caught on fire with the broken gas tank.

Her husband was inside and partially unconscious. She tried to pull him out but the flames became to intense and so the last thing she remembered was her husband screaming as he burned to death.

She woke up in the hospital some days later and the first thing she was conscious of was the smell of cooked meat. Then she realized who was the cooked meat, her own body, and the first thought that went though her mind was, Lord Krsna, if I think I am this body I am going to go mad.

Her face and body were seriously scared. Not enough to frighten children but remarkably. She went to the Temple.

They didn't look at her from a bodily point of vew.

She moved in. Distributed hundreds of books. Collected and donated more money than what it had cost to organize the whole Rathayatra.

So.... good luck with your Rathaytra. If you and Krsna make even one devotee it can be complete financial and Sankirtan, book distribution success.

Dear Gurudev: Pamho. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and his faithful followers.

I hope he is encouraged when he reads this letter.

ASA/TB-BW - We also!

We follow his sankirtan through the blog. Interesting. To a greater or lesser degree we tend to have all the same challenges.

The highlight of my report is that after meeting Prabhupada through his books 38 years ago I still appreciate his personality more and more. It is also remarkable that my desire to be a good devotee is still intact. And no less important is that I continue to identify with ISKCON, despite the differences of opinion that I have with the GBC.

HpS - GBC is ultimate managing authority in ISKCON. Having disputes is guaranteed part of management, no? If everybody agrees on management work then it is very, very, very suspicious. Probably somebody is lying, plotting. 😎

Internally I am sincerely appreciating the purity of intentions of the devotees in two respects:

a) The intention to become devotees.

b) The intention of helping others to become devotees.

We have been on vacation in the south of the country, visiting family and devotees in Malaga and it is very gratifying to be in sadhu sanga. Later we have been in Santander with Jara Mara, Tirtha Kirti and others; also very well. From Santander to NVM, where there is a very good atmosphere and where very interesting things are being done.

After Avesa Rupa's departure we have decided to leave the Navalakunda project. We have donated the property to the Abhay Foundation (created to manage the properties of ISKCON Spain). We have donated 3,160 euros to ISKCON Tenerife, who have bought the place where they had the Temple. We have donated the sankirtan van to ISKCON Madrid and to Nueva Vrajamandala we have donated books, paraphernalia, etc. and 100,000 euros in cash.

HpS/ASA - 😮 We hope you prayed a lot about the decision and consulted with many nice people. devotees. Seems like B I G decisions, but can also be fantastic preaching. Thank you for all the effort.

We plan to visit Spain from like middle of July to first week in October. We want to come after the heat is a little lower and leave with everyone possible to got the India for Kartika.

What do you think?

Best dates?

We would probably just stay in NVM where people could visit us and you know the kind of work we are doing: Consolidating all the Sankirtan efforts.

Now I am focused on the Sat Sanga of the Sierra de Guadarrama and Purnamasi in activities with the children.

I don't take up any more time and, I hope we meet again with these old bodies.

No more

asa[e] - Uncle Gismo, Information Management Science

P.S. -This letter is from several months ago, and the truth is that it is an irrelevant letter, written with the sole intention of maintaining the relationship with the guru and his associates. It surprises me that the letters that do not have the CP lose the interest of him. I think it is a somewhat exaggerated measure. When a letter has not been attended for a reasonable time, it automatically takes priority. Of course I respect their criteria but I think that in this way we are always listening to their opinions and it seems that there is an evident and necessary shortage of critics.

HpS - Thank you for your comments on this topic. It is very important. Before the Blof we were getting 400-500 letters a month! 90% had the same basic three questions:

  1. Where are you?
  2. How is your health?
  3. What are you doing?

We tried, but we just could not answer so many letters. Then with the Blog many sincere devotees began to read the answers to question by others and did not have to ask the three basic questions above, nor ask the other more general questions such as:

  1. Can I take initiation from you?
  2. What is the relationship with family and Temple?
  3. How can I control my mind?

Even the more specific questions about SB, BG, etc. Were answered for those who read the responses to others, so our letters dropped to 150/month.

With the Letter Types listed above, the work load decreased even more eg. I will tag this letter Calendar Development and Category B which means that we can start filtering it for devotees who are interested in the European ASA Calendar Development, and that it includes things, Letters to the Editor, that should go for permanent reference in the ASA-Encyclopedia.

Yet, even 150/month can be heavy load as our eyes become more week. You can see how many letters we have answered so far. You can see that we sent a basic report in the DTC before we started and now our eyes are strained. We will push it a little and probably cause a little permanent damage, but that's life. We are all going to die, so why not die for something eternal.

Also, a lot of the letters involve mental work, as opposed to sensual and intellectual work, so we get headaches after a certain number.

Please send us your thoughts!

! ! !

One immediate response is, you should get a secretary. Bonk. We have tried it. We will continue to try it. Has advantages and drawbacks.

Thank you.

Writing to you like this is very, nice. We remember your Ashrama, everything.

Raganuga Bhakti and Manipuri Vaisnavism

All glories to Srila A.C. Prabhupada, Bhakti Svarupa Sripad Maharaja and Goura Bhakta Vrinda.

Hare Krsna,

HpS Guru Maharaja! Dandavat Pranam.

Please accept my humble obeisanses unto the Padmacharan of Guruji Maharja that the following is the comments of Prabhu Partha Sarathi Das on Manipuri Goudiya system of Shakhi-Manijari forwarded today.

“All Glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gouranga,

H. H. Respected Swamijee,

Please accept my humble pranam, Sriman Yamunesvara Prabhu has shown to me the comment of Sriman Haridas Gosvami on the Guru-Param-Para of the Manipuri Vaisnavism, which seems to be quite remote from the subject under discussion. I have nothing to comment on the remarks given by a sannyasi on his own accord. However, as I belong to the old traditional devout Manipuri Vaisnava family, I feel it obliged to say a few words he has not mentioned at all in his remarks, for the pleasure of my Spiritual Master and other vaisnavas.

To my mind, instead of giving his personal observation on the Guru-Param-Para of Manipuri Vaisnavism, it would have been more appropriate for him to have focused on the principles of Manipuri Vaisnavism as enunciated in the scriptures, which have been followed by each and every vaisnava under the strict supervision of their respective Spiritual Masters coming down through disciplic succession right from the days of Rajarsi Bhagyachandra (1776) till this day. Their presiding deity is Lord Sri Govinda currently being enshrined (worshiped) in the Mani Mandir of the palace of Manipur, Imphal.

Though I have very little knowledge about his background of Manipur Vaisnavism, I regard Sriman Haaridas Goswami as a simple and humble sannyasi. So far as I know, he is a Manipuri devotee born in Assam and brought up there. I never expect such a remark on Guru-Param-Para of Manipuri Vaisnavism, which may hurt the sentiment of Srila Prabhupada and Sri B.S. Damodara Swami, who were the great exponents of Manipuri Vaisnavism. Srila Prabhupada spoke highly of the Manipuri Vaisnavism and commented that Manipur was a great Vaisnava Kingdom and its vaisnava culture needs to be revived for the welfare of the humanity, as revealed in the purport of the Bhgagavatam (9.22.32). In view of this, the remarks on the Guru-Param-Para of Manipuri Vaisnavism is quite irrelevant and uncalled for, from a sannyasi like him who belongs in the ISKCON family, which is to be treated as a great aparadha (sin) to his Spiritual Master, B.S. Damodara Swami as well as Srila Prabhupada. However, may all the merciful Lord Sri Govinda always protect him for his innocence and ignorance.

As desired, for information of Swamijee, I am sending details of the Spiritual Masters coming down through disciplic succession, they are - Lord Sri Krishna - Sri Krishna Caitanya – Sri Gadhadhara Pandit – Sri Loka Natha Swami – Sri Narottama Das Thakur – Sri Ganganarayan Chakravarti – Sri Nidhirama Chakravarti – Sri Kunjabihari Das – Sri Ram Gopal Vairagi – Sri Rupa Pramananda Goswami – Sri Rajarsi Bhagyachandara – and his successive disciple so on and so forth, which are in the records of the history of Manipuri Vaisnavism and its Guruparampara, compiled by great Manipuri writer Late Sri Koijam Brajabihari Singh of Thangmeiband.

One special and unique feature of the Manipuri Vaisnavism, as distinct from others, is that, our approach is indirectly direct, that is, no vaisnava devotee of Manipur is allowed to approach Lord Sri Krishna, direct but through His consort, all merciful Radharani. Radharani is non-different from Krishna. Krishna is the origin of Radharani. Because of this, another name of Radharani is known as Krishna Swarupini. Radharani is the origin of all the Lakshmis including 16,108 Maharanis of Dwarika and Gopis of Vrindavana. So Radharani is known as the Swarva Laksmi Mayi Angsini. As such Gopies are non different from Radharani. Therefore, under the Manipuri Vaisnavism, vaisnaava devotees are allowed to approach Krishna through Radharani, Radharani through Sakhis, Sakhis through Manjari. Shakhis and Manjaris are all Gopis. Under the Manipuri Vaisnavism, at the time of initiation of one devotee, the Spiritual Master should explain the significant of the Spiritual Master and necessity for approaching Krishna through one of the Shakhi or Manjari. And accordingly, the Spiritual Master, on the day of the initiation of a devotee, he should give the name of the Sakhi or Manjari along with his initiated name, through whom he should chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra on the japas at least 5 rounds of chanting, three times a day (tri-sandhya) in the morning, in the noon, and in the evening, without fail. Under this strict system of Manipuri Vaisnavism, I was given initiation by my Spiritual Master (Purohit) of my clan in the late forties when I was thirteen years old. I was also made known the name of the Sakhi through whom I pray to and worship Lord Sri Krishna, along with my initiated name. All these should be kept strictly confidential.

One more important thing to be noted about Rajarsi Bhagyachandra is that he is illiterate; he can neither read nor write. But with the blessings of Lord Sri Govinda, he is endowed with the gifted in-born talent of intelligence and memory, like Maharisi Veda Vyas, son of Parasara Muni. Vyasdeva could learn all the Vedas from his father Parasara only by hearing once for all. Once he hears, it never goes out of his memory. Likewise, though illiterate, Rajarsi Bhagyachandra, whatever he hears from his Spiritual Master Rupa Paramanand Goswami, it never goes out of his memory. Rupa Paramand Goswami narrated all the contents of all the 90 chapters of the 10th Canto, with special emphasis on the Rasa Panchadhaya. King Bhagyachandra was fully motivated and specially attracted to the transcendental beauty of the Rasa Lila of the Gopis with Sri Krishna and could relish the nectarean divine rasa (taste) to his heart’s content. As a result of it, he could produce the world famous Maharas which was staged on the full moon night of the month of Kartika (Nov-Dec) 1779 and Nata-Sankirtana describing the nectarean pastimes of Sri Krishna in the Vraja-Vrindavan.

King Bhagyachandra choreographed the Maharasa, the great circular Rasadance (Raslila) of Lord Sri Krishna along with Gopies, based on the Rasa Panchadhyayas of Srimad Bhagavatam 10th Canto (from 29th to the 33rd Chapters) showing highest devotional touch ever shown by the Gopies to the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krishna. He further designed the newest form of classical Sankirtana (congregational chanting of the Harinama Mahamantra depicting the Vraja Kahani, the nectarean pastimes of Lord Krishna in Vrindavan, performed by a group of singers through their graceful body movement. This type of congregational chanting is known as Nata-Sankirtan. Nata means actors who depicts Vraja Kahani (pastimes of Lord Krishna in Vrindavana through their melodious voice and acting with gradual and graceful body movement.

This is the world famous devotional classical Sankirtana form available till this day in the world. Maharasa and the Nata Sankirtana are the two greatest contributions of Rajarsi Bhagyachandra in the Vaisnava Culture of Manipur.

I have made this letter a bit long unnecessarily which may give Swamiji a little trouble to read.

        Hare Krishna,

To                                                               In the service of Lord Sri Krishna

Srila Hanumat Presaka Swami Maharaja             Your fallen servant,

Partha Sarathi Das

Hanumatpresaka Swami,

Please accept my humble respects. You know that I love Manipur and Manipuri Vaisnava culture. You presentation was very concise and very nice. I have read some other books on the history of Manipuri culture, one was by a former Member of Parliament whom was a little famous. Maybe you know of whom I am talking.

I would have to know a lot more detail about the Parampara of Manipur to make any comments about the detailed practices. I did not see Haridas Swami's letter, so I do not know what his comments were.

Since ISKCON and Manipuri Vaisnavas, as you have so nicely described, are both in Parampara from Narottama Das Thakura then there should be points of agreement on his teachings in both of our traditions.

Specifically we are coming Param para from Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Gaura kishora Das Babaji and Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta tradition.

Of course, we also approach Krsna though Radha but also through Balarama in some cases. Then we also approach Radha through the Sakhis, specifically though Lalita whom we understand has incarnated in Gaura lila as Srila Svarupa Damodara, the personal secretary of Lord Caitanya. Lalita we approach though Rupa and Rati Manjaris et al, whom we understand to have incarnated in Gaura-lila as Rupa, Sanatana, Raghunatha Das Goswami et al.

So, in general Rupa Manjari can be accepted by someone such as Yamunesvara as their Manjari leader.

As established by Srila Bhakti siddhanta Sarasvati and then Srila Prabhupada, this internal connection and cultivation in Manjari Raga anuga is only something that is practically comprehensible when one on a liberated platform.

Adau sraddha, sadhu sanga, bhajana kriya, anartha nivritt, ruci... (BG As It Is 40.10 purport).

Of course, with second initiation in ISKCON we can consider that one is liberate to the level of Brahman realization ie. There IS a spiritual, eternal, all pervasive reality. Then with Sannyasa or Goswami initiation we expect that the devotee is realizing the deity in His paramatma feature, the Lord of the heart, present in everyone giving specific instruction.

So, in our Parampara we do not give Raganuga initiation until the student has come to this platform of Sannyasa. In the Nectar of Devotion Srila Prabhuapada specifically deprecates, following Srila Bhakti siddhanta Saravati the Siddha pranali initiation which makes this Manjari Raganuga Bhakti initiation while the student is in a very neophyte stage which can cause severe damage to their spiritual progress.

It is as you mention something confidential and Srila Prabhupada can give it being physically present or not. One has to be on the platform above bodily consideration, in complete accord with his Diksa guru and the Parampara.

Is this O.K.?

One does not have to take Sannyasa to be a Goswami. It is a meaningful formality but ladies, Grhasthas all can and eventually must come to the level of Goswamis informally before considering Raganuga Bhakti.

Rupa Goswami gives great details of all these things in Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu and Srila Prabhupada gives us perfect access through Nectar of Devotion, and in turn all of the teachings of Narottama Das Thakura come through the BRS.

Nectar of Instruction, Upadesamrta, give an expert summary, and in turn some esteemed devotee such as ourselves of Yamunesvara Das can read even the first text and evaluate his level of development toward Brahman, Paramatma, Bhagavan, Krsna and Manjaris.

Is O.K? We can make practical progress! ? Hope to get to Manipur for Kartika next year.

Thank you so much. Is very, very satisfy to communicate with you. Hope we can do it eternally with the guidance of H. H. B. S. Damodara Swami.

Death of Children

3 years ago by hps in Special Category B

Dear Hanumatpresaka Swami. Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to you.

Our esteemed Daughter-in-law's water broke in the morning today and she had a miscarriage 😭😢

It was all so sudden.

The baby was 15 weeks and left the body. Please pray for the baby. It was a boy. She was reading Bhagavatam for the entire time of pregnancy and had almost completed the third canto planning to complete reading the entire Srimad Bhagavatam by the end of her term. We hope we have done something useful in the child’s onward journey. Of course our very beloved daughter-in-law is heartbroken. You hve always be such a guide to our family that in this crisis we hope you, Guru Maharaja and all the devotees bless us with illumnation and strength.

It is only by their mercy that we can try to come out of this tragedy.

HpS - 😳

Abhimanyu, Abhimanyu!!!  Krsna, Pandavas, Kuruksetra, Subhadra!!! Mayi-bharta Das and his wife had a third little baby but it was ot developing cognitive functions. A scan showed that it had no developed cerebral cortex and the doctors predicted death within a few months.

They wrote to Srila Prabhupada and he said that sometimes a yogi or a devotee has a little bit of Karma left, so Krsna picks the proper parents and the Yogi, devotee, can finish it off in a few months.

He told them to just surround the baby with Krsna kirtan and feed him Prasadam

We saw the fellow. He looked quite comfortable and instead of a few months lived in that body for 13-months.

Such a Mother is very hard to find, and the asupicious association of such a great sould, even for 15-weeks is glorious.

They might like to read this and stay in close touch with look toward Lord's plan:

Hare Krsna!!!
