Anadi Radha and I think that it is a perfect arrangement. 

I would be very greatfull to receive initiation from Gopal Krishna Maharaj on your behalf(13th of July). Then marriage on the 25th of August (Lord Balarama’s Appearnce day!!!) in your presents. (presence)

I apologize for the lack of communication and transparency on my part. I can’t believe that our planing developed so much without consulting with you. I am still learning about this relationship between the Guru and disciple.

HpS - ASA --- Yes, we had a nice conversation: You, me, Anadi-radha Devi Dasi, Ananta-rupa Das.  As I understand your aobve letter is 97% correct ... BUT  ....   We are still making this point that after initiation you are not going to be exactly the same person. So, you, anadi et al, have to adjust your local plans, e.g. marriage, in terms of the new situation.  O.K.  Six weeks is a short time to do that, but may be O.K.  Again, read the Marriage of Kardama and Devahuti in the Third Canto together. That is the ISKCON Marriage Manual. See if you agree with all he ideas that Prabhupada includes. E.g. the picture below relates.

Dear Maharaja

This year is one of the most

strangers to me

It's the second time in the year

I feel that my life is in danger

and living that situation filled me with fear,

I think I have already overcome it,

the exam comes and I do not pass it.

In this I have to keep working.

I was doing tests

And a doctor told me

That possibly got confused in the diagnosis.

Maybe I just had pneumonia.

then, some more tests and we will see.

I would have preferred to write to you when you are ready,

but, they could take a lot.

One of two or those doctors were wrong

And they scared me enough

O Naughty Krsna sends me tests.

I could not believe it!

M i l a g r o!

What I am sure of is that

Dead from fear of disease and death

Like, I do not lose my faith

in the protection of Krsna.

Does it seem contradictory?

We now have time to

reassure and thank

o el travieso Krsna me manda pruebas.

en la protección de Krsna.

We had wonderful association with HH Bhakti Ananda Haridas Goswami Maharaj 2 weeks back after returning back from preaching programme from Bali .His Holiness was with us for 3 days....amidst the tears of gratefulness ..we could only glorify Shree Radhakrishnachandra....Nrshimha Bhagawan....Prabhupada ....Sripad...and Guru Maharaj..ever more for saving HH Bhakti Ananda Haridas Maharaj, Sadhubhushan Das Prabhu and 2 other devotees of Bali.

On that fateful day, the devotee who was driving the car, took a wrong turn and the car, sort of fell into a gorge from well above 40ft. Maharaj narrated the spine chilling  incident ....and said Rakhe Krishna mare ke, mare Krishna rakhe ke ....  miracle of miracles...there was no casualty...only Maharaj and Sadhubhushan Prabhu lost consciousness for a brief period of time. Except for some contusion and abrasions everybody was fine. Thank you Maharaj for Your endless mercy.

HpS - ASA --  Wow!  That is a miracle!

Tomorrow we are going to inaugurate the Guest house at Moreh....our senior devotees will leave by 4am from the temple. This project is finally becoming active. Thank You Gurudev once more.

Our temple president HG Radhacharan Das Prabhu has suggested our name as promoter for UBC university profounded by Sripad Maharaj . These are baby steps...but we want to be in Srila Prabhupada's sankirtan party.....no matter where we stand....

Last Sunday we had nagarkirtan at Nambol, about 15kms from our temple. The group is becoming bigger...and we are enjoying so much......we don't have words to thank You enough dear Guru Maharaj.....our vocabulary is poor...we can only say Hare Krishna with all the love we have in our hearts....

Getting geared up for Nirjala ekadashi...and a hosts of festivals coming up towards the end of this month...

HpS - Sorry has taken two weeks to answer this letter. If things are Urgent, please just write that in the Subject Field.     Thank you so much for your news. It enlivens all of us.  You can see we just bought our tickets for South America.  We had to wait until the program dates were fixed here in Tennessee. That happened yesterday.

Now we wait until 18th July for Bog bazaar Gaudiya Matha dates to get fixed, last week in November and then we buy our tickets for India (End of November to Beginning of March). During that time guess we just visit Australia for a few weeks, but then we can plan programs in Manipur et al.

Thank you for your response about the marriage. Your words have inspired some deep contemplation. 

This is where I am at:

In some ways I am in the grhastha ashram already because I have Aja. So I am kind of in limbo it seems. I would like to be fully protected in the grhastha ashram. I also have material desires and feel that being a father is a way that I can serve Krishna and his Devotees. 

I see getting married as a way of keeping my life simple. Being a single parent is very complicated. 

Anadi Radha Dasi is a very serious devotee and has been a great benefit to my spiritual life thus far. I would like to keep this association. Because of the small community here and the fact that I can’t really leave Boise because of Aja, I think it would be the best thing for us. May we have your blessings?

HpS - ASA -- Hare Krsna!     AGTSP!    paoho/bw....  Thank you for your thoughtful letter.... First I think, disussing this in this forum is very nice.  This is our village newspaper in some ways.    Srila Prabhupada says that in the Vedic culture the young couple go to the the village Brahmana, astrologer, and ask when is a good time to try to get a child. He tells them and then the Brahmana's wife lets everyone in the village know... !...   It becomes an open secret that on this day at this time Mr. and Mrs. So-and-so are having sexual relations.   Prabhupada say that in this way they are all protected from Maya, not having sex in secret like cats and dogs. Of course, that is more extreme than this discussion. Which is good for a lot of our listeners.

Interesting. We are third world country when it comes to social relations. Trying to apply these powerful advanced techniques is like people from the Amazon try to use cell-phones when they are accustomed to communicating by drum beats.

So, your information is very nice and makes me feel eevn greater respect for you.

We are not just making our comments based upon 70-years of living with marriage and 40-years of ISKCON marriage, but also on the comments of others, Prabhupada, so we hope they have some utility for your benefit, though we don't feel that we are beyond learning a lot of new things.

1. From Parasara Dharma Sastra, as recommended by Srila Prabhupada in SB 1.9: How long has it been since you separated from you esteemed first wife?

2. What if we look at 1st initiation as a   *B I G*   life change, a lot to digest, and then maybe make some vows of intention in terms of marriage at that time to be fulfilled after ...  six months,    one year,     of first initiation?

A lot of people have to digest this First Initiation and then the Second Initiation (marriage) for it to be potent and effective e. g. Aja Ji.   Everyone has to get used to you no longer being Bhakta Nick, now being, Sriman N....... Das.

[What will Bh. Nick answer?    Will he discuss it with his Mother-Father-Brother-Fiancee-Church Deacon-The Milk Man-The Baker-The Candle Stick Maker?

Will he escape the snares of The Evil One?]
