AGTSP.  paoho.   Attached is the first draft of Viplavah 2018[3]. It is late because we are selfish, hypocritical, little demons and also because of this eye infection.

Saw Doctor Frank Gowota today and he said that was viral conjunctivitis and is mostly cured now but there is still some inflamation of the cornea so take this steroid for about a week and you should be able to see straight again.

Until then the screen looks blurred and it hurts to read and write, but we go on.

So attached is the first draft. It is going to be a good number. Jiva Goswami Das is already joining us as a future Assistant Acting Editor. He is in Houston and is rumored to have a wife and daughter but nobody ever sees them. <img alt="Emoji" data-inlineimagemanipulating="true" height="16" src="https://s.yimg.com/nq/yemoji_assets/latest/yemoji_assets/1f601.png" title="Emoji" width="16" /> He is like the Gopis in Vraja, they think they have husbands.

Please look through it and when you find your name inserted next to "TTD" please do the thing suggested or something vaguely related.

We just finished our Daily SB class from the ASA camp in Murfreesboro. Last year at the North American Symposium on Education in Seattle we gave SB class in the morning and noticed how Srila Prabhupada included it as a requirement in our society. Our realization was that all the Bh. Vai., Bh. Vedanta, study systems that we are developing are very weak unless they include, are even based upon regular, daily SB classes amongst the Yatra. That is how we would primarily identify the Yatra. Not primarily as those people who attend worship the the Deities in a certain Templel building.

Of course, this is a big topic, but here we are just giving a summary.

The main thing was that we were tired. We are confused by our Sankirtan battles but as a regulative principle, order of our Spiritual Master, we had to have Daily SB class. We have tried with several different Yatras/Temples to get this going but have not been able to do it. We even went to the local GBC and could not get a satisfying arrangement. Now we are going to two or three other GBCs and the Ministry of Education, and as they also seem to be confunded like this as others, then we have a right to go to Srila Prabhupada directly. We have a right, responsibility to start it here in our ASA. So, we did it.

It was hard.

Yet, we have finished one week.

Have you got a Bhakti-vedanta curriculim going??

No. We are first going to keep our taste and satisfaction in the matter. Then we are going to see how others join us and learn what is there taste and satisfaction and Sankirtan needs and then out of that a natural system will develop. May take some time but it will have a very strong foundation.

That was our deep realization and satisfaction today. We were not attending, doing the class out of our head. It was coming straight from the heart. "Sraddha sabda..." and we were feeling sure that we don't have to think, speculate, at all how to expand the class. The class, Bhakti-yoga, will do that automatically.

Maybe you can join our class. Maybe you can't but then maybe our class will inspire others.

We have a lot of heat in the body.   Only way to move heat is with heat. Doctor suggests six cups of hot fennel tea each day.  If we keep on dancing, chanting and being happy to the end of this body, then we can do the same thing in Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON life after life.                             .I don't want to kiss Krsna.   Yuck!!!       I want to be eight years old with Krsna and all the boys in Braja, forests, cows, cowherding, playing, discovering, obeying our parents.

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada and U!

First of all i want to apologize for not organizing my time to see you... I really wanted to see you but I was not be able due to work...

This year I'm teaching kids of 3rd grade, a new experience for me.  This is really a great challenge.

Waldorf Pedagogy says that the greatest Divine revelation is a developing human being. If one learns to know about growing human beings, not merely the anatomical-physiological aspects, one learns how soul and spirit flow down into the physical body. Then any knowledge of the human being transforms itself into religiosity, into devotional, awed reverence before that which streams into the temporal surface from Divine depths. That is how we receive that which supports and sustains us as teachers and what children already sense, that which becomes dedication and natural authority.

At this age (9-10 years old), if a child cannot turn, full of acceptance and with venerable respect, to an adult, he or she will not have the crucial guiding force and inner soul-spiritual resilience needed for further inner development such as can be predisposed through religious training in which feelings like devotion and reverence are fed and nourished. “Therefore, we should establish our education and instruction in such a way that, in the class where children cross the Rubicon, between the ages of 9 and 10, we really stand before them so that, through our own morality, through that which we possess of inner veracity and content of soul, we can really be something to children; not merely have an effect as an exemplary model, but that everything we say will be perceived as truth.”

We really like this kind of thinking cause you do not see only the corporeal but also the spiritual. 

In some way it pushes us to keep our sadhana properly. We are very happy for that.

HpS - Thank you for your letter. Some one may live for only a few days. Some one for many years. The best thing is die when we are supposed to within the plan of Krsna and the Gopis. Please write with more news, experiences. Let us meet your students.

Hare Krsna. A Latin American GBC, Executive Committee Meeting Started at 8AM. Now it is closing at 10.15AM. Ooof. Our eyes are better but still some struggle.

1. I have a lot of ideas about the diplomas, Sastric Education. I would like very much to talk with you about it.

2. Basically, as we see it now, there are so many ways to associate with Srila Prabhupada through his books, but he specifically suggested these formal studies. It was not just a passing mention as some people say but he persisted in this for much time.

3. Is there a collection of the room conversations and letters on his formation of these formal studies? Even a history of the application etc would be good, but is a big project.

4. We feel that ISKCON management does not appreciate education in our institution sufficiently. One response to this is that educators in this perspective have to enlighten them.

5. That these diplomas mentioned by Srila Prabhupada were to correspond to Secondary School (Bh. Sastri), Bachelor (Bh. Vai). PhD (Bh. Vedanta) and Professor (Bh. Sarvabhauma).

6. We think it is very important that Prabhupada mentioned that each diploma should include the previous books. Then Bh.Sastri, BG, would be a Secondary School reading. In Bh. Vaibhava the student would teach it to Bh. Sastri students and read Bhurijana Das's commentary for example.

Prabhupada expected the Sannyasis, Bh. Vai, to know the Mangala archana Prayers and I would also say that we should be testing on knowledge of the basic songs and prayers of the full morning and evening program.

Thus we could say that at first initiation one should be able to follow the full morning program. At Second Initiation (Bh. Sastri) one should be able to lead the full morning program and at third initiation, Sannyasa (Bh. Vai) one should know the word by word meaning of the full morning program.

Then the same development should be there for knowing BG verses for example.

8. The verses are a specific topic that I would like to discuss. For example, one could become Bh. Sarva Bhauma and never know, "nityo nityanams, cetanas cetananam... Katha 22.13) because it is not in the verses of the texts we are studying. So we would prescribe important verses from the Purports as well as verses in the Texts themselves. We would also require review testing on the verses. Not memorize for the test and forget. We would also require strict testing only on singles Padas of verses if that is all Prabhupada uses. Of course, one does not have pass 100% on any of these things. Different tastes for different people.

These are some of our miserable ideas.

We have invested a tremendous amount of blood in developing systematic Sastric education and would like very, very much to discuss it with you.

Can you be available on-line June 21-24th for our American Regional Education Symposium? Physically it will be in Alachua, Florida and your participation will be super useful.

We see that systematic Sastric study should inspire spontaneous study, be fun, and be based upon developing skills of how to associate with others in this endeavor.
