Today I want to ask you about your understanding regarding the golden age, the 10,000 years of Krishna consciousness in Kali Yuga.

A while ago I read this quote:

The Brahma-vaivarta Purana, an ancient scripture, describes a conversation between Lord Sri Krishna and Ganga Devi that occurred in Dvaraka. Speaking on behalf of all the sacred rivers, Ganga Devi expressed all her fear of the coming of Kali-yuga (the age of rifts) and the imminent departure of the Lord back to the spiritual world. She said, “Oh Lord, we can see that Your pastimes are ending and people are becoming more and more materialistic! You have been very merciful to us, however, after Your departure, all the sinners of Kali-yuga will come to bathe in our waters and we will dry up, taken over by sinful reactions."

  Smiling, Lord Krishna replied, “Be patient…in five thousand years, My mantra-upasaka (worshipper of the holy name) will appear in this world and spread the chanting of My holy name everywhere. Not only in Bharata-varsa (India) but all over the world people will chant Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. Through this chanting, the entire world will become Hari-bhakta, devotee of Lord Hari. And since the devotees of Lord Hari are very pure, all those who come in contact with those devotees will be purified from sinful reactions. Such pure devotees will visit Bharata-varsa and purify it from all sinful reactions by bathing in its holy waters. That period of chanting Hare Krishna in the whole world will last for ten thousand years."

The question arose in me as to who this mantra-upasaka was. Naturally my answer was Lord Caitanya, but it did not exactly agree with Krishna's dating of 5,000 years from the time.

HpS - Don't know the document, translator or context. Hmmm. Yet, think Sivarama Swami reespects this citation. Seems like Lord Caitanya and then it has a section glorifying His Sena pati as doin the rest of the work in India and outside of India.

That matches Srila Prabhupada very well.

I kept researching until I thought of asking a devotee who knows this topic in detail.

Prabhu Hare Krishna from Mexico is a scholar who has thoroughly studied Vedic culture. After watching a video in which he shares the prophecies of the Kali Yuga, I asked him about the text that I quoted at the beginning and he replied:

Regarding the disappearance of Krishna, the most accurate calculation was made by the late friend Dr. Narahari Achar with the best astronomy programs, when the Naksachatra of the star Roghini was on the 8th day of the waning moon of the month of Sravana August. -Sept. Prabhupada in his purports says that it was September. This was in the year 3167 B.C. 

In 1896 the year 5000 was fulfilled after the departure of Krishna. Kali yuga began on February 18, 13102 B.C.

So according to astrological calculations, the mantra-upasaka may be Srila Prabhupada, since he was born in 1896 and with this it would be understood that the golden age began with his birth, only 127 years ago.

HpS - We don't really know. Bh. Siddhanta Sarasvati was a GIGANTIC astronomer and from him through Srila Prabhupada we don't have any exact details.

As the translation is being done by five different devotees, it results differ greatly from each other, which is why we need a job of syntax to homologate the text in Spanish in the best possible way.

The style correction eliminates grammatical errors and adjusts the text to the regulations.

Syntax inconsistencies, concordance errors, correlation of verb tenses, errors in the use of prepositions, etc. are corrected.

It is done to improve the flow and cohesion of a text.

HpS - Yes, I think Kesava Bharati Swami did this for Brhat bhagavata amrta of Gopi pranadahna. People don't realize how many people may be involved in gfetting the finished product.

HpS: Gandharva das is not working with you?

In response to your question I’m currently in Argentina, never been to Mexico unluckily.

I’ve been thinking about your point of view in relation to the position of the Jivatma in the spiritual realm and whether if can or can’t fall,

my very narrow mind firstly didn’t let me think quite openly about your statements,

but after a while, and thanks to Krishna, I began considering what you said.

I’m very sorry if I sound very persistent with this topic, the thing is that I need to understand truths, well in order to feel comfortable with myself and with Krishna.

So what I understood from what you told me is that there isn’t possibility of the soul falling accidentally from Vaikuntha or Goloka, but due to it’s free will he/she can choose to abandon Krishna’s company, did I get it right??

So I’ve heard from Bhakisundar Goswami that liberated souls are Acyuta, the defintion of that word I know is one that doesn’t fall from his position and is infalible,

So my question is, why perfected souls might change from being perfect to being imperfect, wouldn’t that be a fault in perfection, not letting that quality express fully?

HpS/ASA - Srila Prabhupada comments that maybe we were this or that but now we are neither. We are in Maya. By following the process we see that we are becoming liberated from coffee, tea, tobacco, arrogance, greed for fame...

In our present state these things are not completely clear, but as we come out of the fog, they become clear.

Yes the soul is Acyuta.

Bh. Vinode Thakura gives an example of a child becoming absorbed in the mirror reflection of the moon, but that does not mean that it is not being still held by the affectionate mother. We become fallen in our little absorption in Maya, but that does not mean that we are not Acyuta at heart. That is how we heard him cited to explain this point today.

We can go on, and on, and on with logical arguments, but basic principal is that we have free will in every circumstance, and if we chose to go into Maya we can.

Of course, we become frightened when we hear this because we want to enjoy independently (Maya), so we don't want to consider that we have responsibility for our actions.

Hare Krishna. How are U????

We are doing ok. Trying to keep a good sadhana (16R, 4.30AM, 4P). Worshipping our deities before leaving for work. Then reading SB everyday.

Things at school are pretty good. This week we celebrate Winter Solstice and The feast of Saint John the Baptist. We work on the image of a new beginning and that the fire of a campfire burns all the bad things that we want to change in ourselves. The students write in a letter everything bad that they want to change and offer it to the fire. The older grade (11th) chant in Sanskrit and Spanish the invocation to Agni. It is such a beautiful ceremony.

Last week my niece broke her grain fast. It was a simple but very significant ceremony.

How to Improve Japa!

The entire SB, CC, NoD seems to be the answer to that question, no?

We heard H. H. Satsvarupa Das Gos. asked the same question to Srila Prabhupada, "How to chant better rounds, Srila Prabhupada"?

Then, SP looked at him with pointy eyes and said, "By chanting better rounds"!

So, that's the basic answer, no?? That if we are chanting rounds, we are getting intelligence from the Lord of the Heart. So, we have sufficient knowledge how to chant better, then the question is are we going to do it, be faithful, be Bhaktas. Use whatever strength we have to apply the improvement that our Krsna conscious intelligence is dictating.

Beyond that we were in Vaikuntha listening to the one round of Japa. Timed 10-mantras and they were 4.5 sec/mantra. Then the whole clip seems to be 8' 48" which is 5 seconds/Mantra.

(We are doing just about the same now.)

That means 16-rounds, 1728 mantras, = 8,640 sec. = 144 min. = 2hours and 24 minutes, no?

NoI 7 and 8 seem to be nice instructions on Japa. If we are chanting attentively, Nama, then we should start to develop a desire to see the form of the Lord, Rupa. Our intelligence starts asking us, "Hey, you chant'n 'Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare', but where is dis Krsna!"

So, we look around the room for a picture of Krsna (and cows (and Srimati Radharani)) or go sit in front of our Deities or in the Temple Room.

Does that happen to you?

"Nama, Rupa, Carit-adi..." (NoI 7 & 8). Adi = Sanga and Lila, no? All this should manifest if we are chanting with Bhakti.

• Sit properly.
• Breath properly.
• Chant with proper meaning.

We heard that Prabhupada told Guru-kripa Swami that he could chant in the mood of the Siksastakam.

We especially remember SB 10.47.63.

Chanting clearly with our lips purifies the earth,

Chanting also with mental attention purifies the sky,

Chanting also with meaning purifies heaven, Goloka?

Enough people chanting like that, purifying the mental atmosphere and then very difficult for people to think demoniac thoughts.

Gurudeva actualmente estoy enfrentando un reto:

Una persona muy querida por mí se encuentra muy enferma y a pesar de la atención medica no se observa mejoría. Me siento muy asustada y frustrada por no poder ayudar. Me parece que ver sufrir a un ser querido es incluso más doloroso y aterrador que mi propia enfermedad. He estado tratando de refugiarme en los santos nombres, en oraciones a nuestras señorías y en el SB (especialmente 1.13) … De manera consciente entiendo que no hay nada que yo pueda hacer, sin embargo, emocionalmente es muy difícil para mí. ☹ Creo que este es el mismo reto que me ha perseguido en diferentes formas y que trata de enseñarme que yo no puedo proteger a nadie y que solo nuestro Señor es el Supremo Protector… Pero al observarme, me doy cuenta de lo mucho que me hace falta para rendirme verdaderamente a la voluntad de nuestro Señor. ☹

Gurudeva I am currently facing a challenge:

A person who is very dear to me is very sick and despite medical attention, no improvement is observed. I feel very scared and frustrated that I can't help. It seems to me that watching a loved one suffer is even more painful and scary than my own illness. I have been trying to take refuge in the holy names, in prayers to our lordships and in the SB (especially 1.13)… I consciously understand that there is nothing I can do, however, emotionally it is very difficult for me. ☹ I think this is the same challenge that has haunted me in different ways and tries to teach me that I can't protect anyone and that only our Lord is the Supreme Protector... But looking at myself, I realize how much it makes me I need to truly surrender to the will of our Lord. ☹

HpS - Arjuna had not only to see Bhisma and Drona die, he had to kill them! We cannot appreciate how much he was attached to them, being born in these impersonal, industrial cultures.

Dear Guru Maharaja, that is the current state from my trench, please excuse this foolish student and thank you very much for your mercy, which keeps me alive and fighting.

If you can read the dialog to the end of the Chapter! In some sense we felt that we lament like Yuddhisthira about how we can't help others, but Narada Muni is noting that this is foolish. We are lamenting over the unfortunate situation of others but are so silly that we don't realize the same thing is happing to us, so how can we help anyone else.

Best we can do is understand why Krsna is doing these things and then use our little capacity to help Him, no?
