Vedabase - Communication about categorization with Srinivasacarya Prabhu

6 years, 7 months ago by pnd in Special Category B

Resending email to Srinivasacarya Prabhu about categorization as you may found it interesting or have some comment for it:

Hare Krishna Dear Srinivasacarya Prabhu,

OK, I thought I would be able to add categories on my own if you enable permissions. It seems you need pre-defined categories that I could then associate a topic to.

Yes. As suggesting paragraph into categorization can be done by any user we need to have good category tree already created. Otherwise users will create duplicate categories or categories which doesn't give sense.

That categorization will be usable for all, possible to use as filter in search. And once proposed categorization of paragraph/s is accepted by moderator it will be applied in all languages. So person who speaks only Telugu will be able to categorize in Telugu, but it will automatically categories same text in English, Spanish, Russian, Hindi, even in language we don't have yet (as when we will add new content we connect it)

I have plan to add feature which will enable you to do your personal categorization (personal folders) where you will have full freedom to create any categories you want. Although that would be available only for users who did some service for project (e.g. importing books, categorization, moderators) and donors.

I can discuss with Maharaj and come up with some categories but for now if you need some sample categories below are some that I use in my own indexing:

1.       Varṇāśrama-dharma
    a.       Strī-dharma
    b.       Rāja-dharma
    c.       Pati-dharma

2.       Guru-tattva
    a.       Qualities of a guru
    b.       Qualities of a disciple

3.       Philosophical classification
    a.       Epistemology
    b.       Ontology
    c.       Cosmology
    d.       Praxeology

4.       Sāṅkhya
5.       Aṣṭāṅga
6.       Glory of Bhagavatam
7.       Glory of Holy name

Most probably I will add now (in close future) only 2. Guru-tattva (a, b), 6. Glory of SB and 7. Glory of Holy name. As those should be clear for 95% users and most likely should be somewhere in final category tree. Although in final category tree they may not be in top/root level, but as children of top level or some other category..

I realize that creating of category tree will be tremendous task. It may need we create some group of devotees who will plan the tree and slowly transform it into 'final' version. And most probably it will be practical to make 2 trees, One for simple devotees and another one for scholars. Some of categories from both three could be considered as aliases. So for example: paragraph in category Varnasrama :: Raja-dharma would be mirrored in something like Leadership :: Quality of the leader.

And I am aware of my inability of correct word expression of my thoughts and ideas, so most times it is hard or impossible for people to understand what I want to say. But I would try my best to clarify or answer if you have any questions.

Brief summary of categorization:

- categorization of texts is accessible for anybody (possible to use for narrowing down search results)
- any user (except those who has very bad reject rate from moderators) can suggest paragraph into any category from category tree
- any suggestions from any language, will be automatically applied in all languages (as we have connected paragraphs through languages)

ASA - This requires that the Catetegory Label be translated into the othe languages. Also a challenge.
- any suggestions will be moderated to assure quality
- users cannot create categories, they can only tag category to the text (there will be way to suggest categories, but will be careful process as we don't want to end with 100,000 categories like other project with categories like 'Eggplant', 'Hitler', 'Therefore', etc.. which are not in fact suppose to be categories, but are more like search terms what user write in search page)
- category tree will have ideally as few top-level items as possible (with common sense children, grand-children, ... e.g. subcategory 'quality of guru' you would search under 'guru-tattva', thus easy for people to find wanted category)
- categories will have ability to have defined synonyms (user could search 'arca vigraha', it will suggest him category 'Deity Worship')
- while suggesting categories user will see also his last few recently used categories (so it is faster to select those categories without need of going down through whole tree)

[I think think topic may be interesting for Guru Maharaja, I may copy this email into blog].

HpS - ASA - Yes, very much interesting to us. We are German. We want everything to fit into a Category. Seems like what you are generating is an Index. Our current index of BBT books is in our Archives as asa-ndx.docx.  We have worked on the Index Topics, Categories, for some time and there are some there that might interest you.

I would definitely include Varna-ashrama-dharma (VAD) as one Topic and then the natural Sub-Topics become: Brahman-dharma, Ksatriya-dharma, Vaisya-dharma, Sudra-dharma, Brahmacari-dharma, Grhastha-dharma, Vana-prastha-dharma, Sannyasa-dharma and Stri-dharma.

It is a big area and would require a team, no? BBT books already have indexes for the paper volumes.

Seems you need a Vedabase.io Index Committee.

ASA-Encyclopedia, MOE EC member

ND: I downloaded the file, updated it with your 3 new articles, updated the names and uploaded it. Please, can you check it. I left the old file 170810 there in case I messed something up.

Another thing... Did you and devotee from MOE thought to publish/share the Journal online? Websites like Dandavats, https://news.iskcon.org, GBC website are possible good places.

HpS - Thank you very much. Would you like to become a Member of the Executive Committee of the Ministry of Education?

ND: I would like although I am not sure I fit in there . What is the job description?

HpS - Have to like teaching and learning the Srimad Bhagavatam et al.

Kozyrev - Gravity and Poison

6 years, 7 months ago by Nanuk in Special Category B

PAMHO!! It is said that from Kozyrev's work they did in Soviet union telescopes, that used scalar energy, to see the much more actual place of stars. As scalar energy moves almost infinite times faster than light. I did put something into http://akasha-plane.weebly.com/gravity.html :

Space that is curved? “Wait…isn’t space supposed to be empty?” you ask. How can you curve something that is empty? As we can see, the significant problem in visualizing Einstein’s gravity model is with the word “curve”, as this is something that a flat, elastic sheet would do.
Indeed, most attempts to visualize Einstein’s results picture planets as if they were weights that were depressing an imaginary flat rubber sheet that is stretched out in space as the “fabric” of space-time. An object such as a comet or asteroid simply follows the geometry of the sheet as it moves towards the Earth.
The problem with this model is that any curvature of space-time would need to be moving in towards a spherical object from all directions, not just a flat plane. And furthermore, one still requires a force of gravity to pull a weight down into a flat rubber sheet. In a weightless space, the ball and the sheet would simply float around together.
In reality, the word “flowing” is far more precise than “curving,” since in Convergence III we have demonstrated that gravity is actually a form of aetheric energy that is constantly flowing into an object.

ASA [UG] - One place Srila Prabhupada, the Bhagavata, says that the planets are held in location by "wind ropes". The second of the five gross elements in Prana, Vayu, air, tactile force. A Karate guy can manipulate this. Narada Muni travels on air-waves. An electrical wire is a "tunnel" to electricity. So gravity we see as Prana, no?

The equations for gravity do not specify which direction it must flow in, simply that it exists as a force that is responsible for objects not flying away from the Earth’s surface. Such ideas can be traced to John Keely, Dr. Walter Russell and more recently Walter Wright with his well-established “Push Gravity” theory.
Once we establish that all force fields such as gravity and electromagnetism are simply different forms of aether/ZPE in motion,

UG - In the Vedic model we understand each element is a subset of the previous, so everything is Mahat-tattva, then all the five gross elements are subsets of aether, space.

then we have an active source for gravity and a straightforward reason for why it would exist. We see that every molecule in the entire body of a planet must be sustained by an ongoing in-flow of aetheric energy.
The same energy that is creating the Earth is also creating and flowing into us. We are then caught up in the gigantic current of the river of energy that streams into the Earth, much as mosquitoes get stuck to a screen window while the air blows right through the screen.
Our bodies cannot travel through solid matter, but the current of aetheric energy certainly can – and this is one of the many things that Keely, Tesla, Kozyrev and others demonstrated. A star or planet must continually draw energy from its environment in order to “stay alive.” Kozyrev had made very similar conclusions about our Sun back in the 1950s, concluding that stars acted as “machines that convert the flow of time into heat and light.”

ASA - Kapila: Time is the external manifestation of the Supersoul.   Got any "time" to "kill".

next one is from book telling about those videos I sent you, I guess Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati was very very right about the thing that the demons would try to prevent pulling the on switch of that prophetized 4 storied TOVP ship!! And why they destroy still Prabhupada's last pastimes with their lies:

GOALS OF THIS PRESENTATION

We recognize that in general the followers of Srila Prabhupada are not very well informed about the poison issue. There are many strong emotions invoked by this subject, so many will repress the topic and avoid becoming properly informed with the actual facts. Often it is assumed that the “poison theorists” have a secret agenda based on material considerations or are simply deranged, troubled individuals. Or it may be assumed that the “poison theory” has not been substantiated with real evidence. This is a shame because, as a reader of this presentation who carefully considers all the material herein will see, this issue is not a theory or conspiracy, but full of facts and evidence. So much so, one may note that the size of this presentation is voluminous; it is meant to provide all the relevant data in the poison issue to anyone interested to know.

The first goal is to comprehensively, honestly present all the evidence and facts in one place. This work is meant as an historical reference material. There is also a serious need to set the historical record straight in light of so much false propaganda and obfuscation from ISKCON leaders who hope to fend off full truth discovery in the matter. Our effort is called revisionism, which, according to Harry E Barnes, is bringing history into accord with the facts. Why would history and factual evidence be at odds? It is because institutions falsify the past to keep their membership loyal and subservient to their corruptions.

ASA - Arnold Toynbee, great historian, met Srila Prabhupada. As I remember he was asking very precise questions from Srila Prabhupada even about Indira Gandhi and Srila Prabhupada was answering with great enthusiasm like, "At last a man with half a brain in his head"! He said that there are three kinds of history: The half-truth, the distorted truth and the damn lie. When you have history that tells very accurately what happend, who are the good guys and who are the bad guys, then it almost certain that you are dealing with category two or catergy three. If it is a history with many unanswered questions then probably it is the best we are going to get from history.

For us then a precise look at a poisoning theory is a lot of work and we see that more productive attitude is to accept simple evidence as it comes but focus on the living Prabhupada, "I will never die. I will live forever in my books", and from this we can see the quality of our institutional leaders and react accordingly.

This theme was also developed by George Orwell, as presented in his book 1984. As we sometimes have to wash our car of all the accumulated dirt, so we must clear up the lies and misconceptions which obscure the actual history and proper understanding of Srila Prabhupada’s disappearance pastimes.

Also this work is meant as a glorification of Srila Prabhupada. One may ask how this can be, and as an example, we see that Srila Prabhupada knew he was being poisoned and yet offered no protest, as understood from the recorded conversations themselves. Such an unselfish position, to accept the betrayal by his own disciples and the violence inflicted upon him without making any objection, is another display of His Divine Grace’s transcendental glories. This is comparable to the acceptance of crucifixion by Jesus Christ.

HpS -  Hmmm.   We lived with Hansadutta, Jayananda, Bhakti-svarupa Damodara Swami under many  circumstances and so have a good feel of how to evaluate what they said. Hansadutta said that he asked Prabhuapda to come back to Germany for a second visit, but Prabhupada answered that he could not go back again, because there were people there (outside of ISKCON?) who would kill him. He said that the Germans were materially the most intelligent race. P. N. Oaks says that Deutch land comes from Daitya land. So, Srila Prabhuapda was quite capable of protecting himself and on different occasions avoiding restrictiions by his disciples. Any of us would have done what he said and wisked him out of danger if he had asked.

We are not saying that he was not poisoned, but we are considering the method of investigation, its fruit and diversion from immediately profitable action with the living Prabhupada.

The basic goal is to establish the TRUTH of the circumstances surrounding Srila Prabhupada’s departure. Truth is an end in itself, always worthy and necessary.

HpS - Blllllawwp.    That is "scientific" view, no?   The first verse (2nd) of the Bhagavatam establishes that the highest truth is reality distinguished from illusion for the welfare of all. So we base our cosmology on Ananda, not Cit. We start with why do we know rather than what we know. Why will always change what, no?

“Among the public, those who are more honest will not dislike, but rather respect our straightforwardness. If we just go on giving our message as it is, it will gradually be accepted for what it is.” (Srila Prabhupada)

Hare Krishna. Maharaja, can you be trusted, I guess. But if not you would be in perfect position for back-stabbing, but then also money would be lost. That's how it goes with the new crypto-coins. HK

HpS - We are pretty trustworthy. We have an addiction to pnuts and bananas but it is under basic control and diminishing.  We like this article more than others you have written. It is more clear, esoteric and we can respond with our ideas.  We did not look at the links, so we cannot recommend of censor them according to our taste.  Thank you very much!   If see that our ideas as well as yours are meritorious then we hope the dialog continues.

SFRY 2017

ASA - Follows an intriguing and informative description of the current Lila of Krsna.

S A N   F R A N C I S C O   R A T H A   Y A T R A    2 0 1 7

A breezy landing at the San Jose Airport, my wife looks relieved that we’ve touched the ground… prior-transfers and terminal waiting took its toll. All good, for now we are in California, ISKCON’S 51st San Franiosco Ratha Yatra.(SFRY).

Gathering our luggage we get our rental car and proceed to San Jose, my good wife’s destination with the devotee’s at ISKCON of the Silicon Valley (ISV). Then I’m off to Berkeley for services with the New Jagannatha Puri Temple (NJP).

ThE SFRY radiates grandeur and meticulousness at the same time, the “Acintya Bheda-Bheda Tattva” of events. We are glad to have Prabhu Jagannatha Swami at NJP on this San Francisco Ratha Yatra (SFRY) for 20 some-odd years. The red-tape of SF city hall is a maze of permits and scheduling… then the logistics of street safety, waste disposal and vendors adds to the equation. This is not a job for the weak minded.

S E T – U P

Arriving early Friday mornin’ before our big event I get a devotee escorted ride to the Truck Rental Agency for one of our numerous vehicles. With only two days to go our service attitudes are priming and will be needed for we’re all working lean and long hours.

Friday afternoon prep’ is on we are dis-assembling floats, rolling staging, storage containers and tent ballasts into the 24 foot bob-tail truck. A bit of extra work this year since we didn’t have enough volunteers for trucking, Hours later all is loaded we are ready for Saturday Set-Up. Meanwhile, at ISV with Vaisesika Prabhu in San Jose, my wife and devotees are packaging and preparing thousands of books for distribution at our Sunday SFRY venue.

6 a.m. Saturday Morn’ and Sharon Meadows in Golden Gate Park is already humming with activity. We were so fortunate to have the Vaisnava Youths attending this festival, their selfless help and efforts bring easier success to this event. The meadows are now a wide scattered orchard of tent poles awaiting their colorful canvas dresses. The Festival of India (FOI) is pulling out signage, flags and ballasts, we start unloading NJP’s equipment and massive wooden stage pieces for the Altar. The cumbersome pieces are strewn about but not too worry, routine construction begins again. Some of the staging is decades old and slightly worn although still quite sturdy. A future goal is to upgrade to modular equipment, for now, the show must go on!

The devotee, Madhuha who manages with (FOI) has been at this for many, many years. Their services have kept Temples alive with the necessary paraphernalia to promote this Krishna consciousness festival with Vedic themed tent-booths, performance staging and sound systems. Majority of FOI is charitably funded (www.festivalofindia.org), so remember to give them something when you can.

Our hours of preparation have paid off, festival site is complete just a few loose ends wait on Sunday, though we’re ready for them, it’s expected… as the senior devotee Kamalsan Prabhu reminded me, “Every Temple has it Rasa” and NJP is known for its sudden surprises.

 T H E  B I G  D A Y

Flopping out of my sleeping bag at 4 am Sunday, shower up, Tilak, dress, japa and jump into the truck for 2 morning trips to SF, for final Chariot set-up then return for the Festival Feast preps along with serving equipment.

Received news that the Chariot Throne was missing at Lord Baladeva’s cart, remember this is the NJP Rasa, always some glitches to keep us motivated and attentive. Packing a drill-gun and fasteners in a belt-pack I start walking to the Parade line and only have 10 minutes till the 11 a.m. start time. Crossing over the streets I take short-cuts through the hilly side paths to JFK Drive and merge onto the main road. Checking the time, just know I’ll be late then after about 2 minutes of walking, then turning I see Rasika-Govinda Prabhu on the motorized golf-cart. Waving my arms he stops, smiles and offers a ride! With just enough room, I stand on the cart’s bed while riding with a full load of devotee’s to our Parade’s starting line.

Just in time, as the devotees are placing Lady Subhadra and Srila Prabhupada on Their chariot,  the Sun miraclously breaks through the clouds! The lost Throne has been found and Lord Baladeva’s already sitting in His place, though He is not secure to the base, pulling out the drill-gun and fasteners I quickly screw it down , check the Lord’s seat-belts… we are ready to go!

Chariots slowly begin rolling with the Vaisnava’s towing. This is one the biggest turn-outs we’ve seen since Srila Prabhupada’s appearances, 3,000 plus Souls chanting , “Hare Bol!”, this is the Spirit of Ratha Yatra, Vaisnava’s young and old all chanting along rejoicing in the Lord’s eternal song. Gaining momentum the lead float with Lord Nityananda and Mahaprabhu are starting up the roads gentle slope the rest of the parade is on, following the SF devotees kirtan on a flat-bed truck jubilantly chanting the Maha-mantra, ”Hare Krishna Hare Krishna  Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama  Hare Rama  Rama Rama Hare Hare!”

F E S T I V A L  T I M E

Throngs of devotee’s and pedestrians now flow into the tented festival, lines for the free feast pour out of the park, lines for snacks, drinks and literature entwine, the Show is just beginning to unwind. Warm bhajans on the stage bring the parks winds to play, cooling the day. Dancers sway with the sounds and the show moves all around. Coming to a crest our NJP Temple President brings a fusion band to the test. A reeling sitar comes through, tabla’s too and the 12 piece drums gives the festival a rousing run.

Across the grounds at an adjacent tent, food distribution that is Heaven sent. Prasadam chow is dished out with 5 preps for the hungry crowd. The Folsom devotee’s cooked for days, bringing joy to palettes in many ways. Alongside the ravenous group is ISV’s Book stand and troupe with Srila Prabhupada’s books in hand, delivering the Spiritual scoop.

Whilst all this is going on, Their Lordships Jagannatha, Baladeva and Lady Subhadra smile strongly while the music quieted, we’re sadly excited for Our Lordships final ride subsided. Returning in Their exalted car, Lord Jagannatha, Baladeva, Lady Subhadra with Srila Prabhupada drove off,  somberly we watch the departure from afar.

O U R  D E P A R T I N G

With our meager volunteers and the enthusiastic Vaisnava youth we are eager to roll the stages up and not have anything loose. Hours fly by and we pack in order to make it easy for next year’s supporters.

Driving back to NJP a sense of relief from a successful event can’t be beat and know it’s the good Lord’s mercy that there’s no adversity. We’ll meet up the next day, finalize our unloading, take the truck back and we’re on our way returning to our services when the next Ratha Yatra emerges.

All Glories to Srila Prahupada, All glories to the Vaisnava’s!

sincerely, your servant in training,

Art and the Sacred - Movie

6 years, 8 months ago by hps in Special Category B

Oscar Uvaca,

Hare Krsna.

Dear Maharaj, as Abhirama told you, a group of friends has postulated my name for the National Cultural Award in the item: Creativity.

They ask me to compilate my 33 years work (adjunt) . That took time.

Now it is already presented. We will see what happen in the next months. The fujimorists are doing interferences in cultural issues inclusive, so nobody knows. Anyway, hope the jury will not give up with political pressures.

Now I will focus complete in The Art & Sacred project. I  also decided not to present a new project for INTEGRO in IBERESCENA for next year, so I can be under your service.

I will begin calling some people for preparing the main questions. Pre-production is next.

Thank you

Oscar

Hare Krsna!

We have been very sick from all this travel, but recovering, and planning how to go ahead. I have been trying very, very, hard to generate dialog on the fundamental concept for the movie. We tried a longer letter to Dr. Kalyana-kumar (Former Director Indian Fine Arts Academy etc),  but he has only responded with a general perspective in some works he has published.

Our energy is very little and unless we can get a dialog with Kalyan, Hector, Ramon, then we cannot see any really big project going ahead. We will certainly go ahead with our resources, no?

Who would you like to interview in your circle?

ASA-Encylopedia - Hypnosis

6 years, 8 months ago by hps in Special Category B

Hare Krishna beloved Gurudev,

Please accept my humble obeisances,

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I wanted to ask you your opinion about hypnosis, what is the Vaisnava vision on this matter?  What Srila Prabhupada thought about it? Did he say anything about it?.

The thing is that a friend of mine suggested me to make a 4 days (day) training in this field. Saying (,saying) that it would be beneficial for my patients. I have to make a decision this week in order to register for this course. I'm not Sure about it. So i would like to know your advice in this matter.

Victory comes from a good advice... (and good advice comes from many conselors Canakhya Pandita).

Thank you so much Gurudev,

Your silly aprentice,

Doctor Jekyll

ASA - It works. We did it. Many people have used it. After 100 years of research by Western science, they still have not the slightest understanding of what is happening or how it works. We've never seen Srila Prabhupada make the slightest comment about it nor any of our Acharyas.

Our friend from High School, Richard Weigle, had a wife who had a phobia of spiders. We induced a hypnotic trance, regressed her to the childhood trauma that caused it. Let her take that into her adult consciousness and deal with it and the phobia was gone.
