All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Dear Gurumaharaja and spiritual father.

Please accept my humble and sincere obeisances.

Sorry for not writing to you before, so many things happened this year that forced me to keep my time fully occupied. At home we lived: my aunt (the nurse) who has Alzheimer's, my mother (who sells Ice in blocks), Hari Sundar (my associate), my two puppies and me. I tell him we lived because in May my aunt fell and had a fissure to the bone Femur, due to her mental state, the doctors decided to operate it for her prompt recovery of the bone.

This, brought care to FULL TIME for their mental state and operation. My aunt took care of me as a child, she was like my second mother, she has no children or husband, all her life was dedicated to work in one of the largest and oldest hospitals in Lima and of course study and study (she has master's and graduated in quantity) Since I was his “daughter” because I saw myself in the obligation and ethical moral responsibility to take care of her now that she is 76 years old and in the mental state she is in. After the operation, my aunt Alzheimer's became a senile dementia, so she needs constant supervision, if I neglect she can eat any object she finds and I have to evade her aggressive outbursts, unfortunately she recognizes me only for some moments Take psychiatric medications but it is still a concern and dedication. My mother, not understanding this disease and arguing so much with her (why she doesn't recognize her if a moment ago she had called her by name, etc.) is that I asked her to leave the house and go to the other house to take care of my uncles (the 90-year-old brahmachari, my aunt Ana the 83-year-old teacher who has an NGO) So Hari Sundar and I take care of my aunt with Alzheimer's, sharing times (he in the morning and me in the evening ).

HpS - Jaya!!!! And your father? Do you have lots of Krsna stories and Srila Prabhupada playing in the background for your patients??? They are going to take birth in the Hare Krsna movement in their next life. Who is Hari Sundar, foto????

You know, sometimes when I talk to my aunt, I feel that I see my future (woman alone, dedicated to her work and studies) I am afraid, because she makes me lose my patience and I think “God, when I grow up, someone who is more loving than me ) I feel that at this stage of my life, I became too rational, I think the feelings are good and necessary but at the same time they create a disorder of weakness and imbalance, preventing us from thinking clearly.

In addition, I am dedicated to my work, the school, with my dear students. As the educational institution where I work is personalized teaching, I can not have more than 10 students per classroom and work with children that other schools do not want to receive because they have a series of disorders, children with hyperactivity, opponent challenging, chronic insomnia, dyslexia, dysprosodia (language problems), dipraxia (lack of motor coordination) schizophrenia, neuropsychological problems and more. I like my work, I thank you infinitely gurumaharaja for motivating me and telling me that day “YES, STUDY EDUCATION AT THE UNIVERSITY THE CANTUTA IN CHOSICA, DO NOT DOUBT” if it were not for you, I would never have discovered my vocation, nor studied in my beloved national university of education "La Cantuta". I feel that thanks to being a teacher I balanced my life.

Gurudeva, when I am in class and I see my students with the difficulties that I mentioned before, I think will it be that in the spiritual world there are cowboys that present these symptoms that in this world we call disorders? Without wanting to be offensive, I remember reading in the book Nectar of devotion that gopis and cowboys had some symptoms of love for Krishna, such as stuttering, babble of emotion, talking so fast that they are not understood, dreaming of Krishna , etc. Could it be that my work is a preparation for the spiritual world? Could it be that Mother Yasoda needs me to learn to treat children like this to help her take care of the cowboys?

HpS - I don't know... I think they are not ordinary people. To get contact with a disciple of Srila Prabhupada like you is not ordinary. Maybe they had very demoniac histories and now are acting like birds and beasts or... ??? Chant Hare Krsna and you will get insight. BG 10.11

I finished my studies at the university, I will begin to see the procedures to get a bachelor's degree and a bachelor's or master's degree, I don't know who could help me, I have to find out too many legal procedures.

But, meanwhile, as every teacher should always be trained, I am studying a specialization: Language therapy (to deal with my students' problems with methodology and strategies)

I don't know how wrong I am, but now I think that the spiritual life is also to find a balance and goal in life, guided by a trustworthy teacher (as in school) Gurumaharaja there is no day that does not think of you, as a model and inspiration Sometimes I tell my students that I also have a teacher, who guides me, teaches me right and wrong, with love and humor, with patience and care, with songs and letters. Children are happy with so little, and I am happy knowing that you always listen to me through the heart.

Mi papá le manda saludos, me preguntó por usted en navidad, vinieron mis hermanos los gemelos (miden 1m 85cm) mi hermana que sigue soltera porque tiene un carácter peor que el mío y mi madrastra que es mi segunda mamá. El médico dijo que el problema cardíaco que tiene mi papá (síndrome de Wolff - parkinson al corazón) es hereditario, uno de cuatro hijos podría padecer lo mismo, bueno hasta el momento los cuatro hijos presentamos algunos malestares al corazón. ¡Benditos genes!

Hare Krishna dear Guru Maharaj,

We had a wonderful Nagarkirtan today at Singjamei, about 6kms from our Radha-Krishnachandra temple. After our SB class,as we were about to proceed for our Nagarkirtan, Mataji Nandimukhi DD, our godsister, expressed her inability to join the Nagarkirtan ,as she had to join a religious event in her neighbourhood. She was upset...I was equally upset,though I did not outrightly express my disappointment...nevertheless was quite unhappy at the thought that Krishna will be missing one of His devotees....

Then as we started the Nagarkirtan,we saw Mataji trying to catch an autorickshaw, we thought....for one last time,she would change her mind and join us. Well, she passed by,noticed us and went her way. And lo!! just in a matter of few mins, she took a U turn and joined the Nagarkirtan with us! We laughed like little mischeivous kids!! Jaya Gauranga!! Jaya Nityananda!!

Kirtan is so powerful...so purifying. We go crazy. Thank you dear Guru Maharaj.

HpS - ...but it says that she was glorifying him with hope of "bribing" him to ignore her transgressions? Is just an exciting story. It is full subtle details. She did not want relations with her husband because of gross lust. She was filled with social lust, to have HER sons. It is quite natural but, even these natural urges can create havoc unless we engage them in Krsna's service. More stories, more stories!!!

Chanting has improved by Your mercy dear Guru Maharaj.

In the last Kapidhwaja... Guru Maharaj wrote about improper honouring of prasadam. Would you please elaborate on this ? We are trying our best to strictly follow the standards laid down by Srila Prabhupada. Please help us never to compromise on Srila Prabhupada's instructions in whatever difficult situations we may be put into.

HpS - Is in many ways just the common situation of us lusty, USA, dogs. We become frustrated by different things. We feel pain on our body and then try to use Prasadam to gratify our senses rather than taking it for Krsna's service. Subtle contamination, but...NOI 1 talks a lot about this with citations from CC etc. We don't want to be an Indra in our necxt life.

comienzo mi reporte contando que estoy siguiendo mi sadhana pero estas ultimas dos semanas atrás estuve descompesada por que después de 3 años tuve una crisis convulsiva.

no me golpee cabeza ni rompí lengua solo tengo un pequeño dolor en el brazo izquierdo pero lo que mas lamento fue que mi horarios de sueño cambiaron y mi sadhana cambio un poco durante esas semanas pero ya estoy bien con mi sadhana restablecido ademas sigo con mi servicio cocinando a la deidad (estoy mejorando en algunas preparaciones me siento contenta por eso).

yendo tres días al templo a mangala arati ,dando clase algún día que me pidan, limpiando , leo cada día en casa ,también mejorando en mi canto de japa etc... por ultimo le cuento que termine mi curso de discipulos esta semana entrego el examen escrito .se despide su humilde sirvienta Raman Reti Devi Dasi

HpS - Gracias!!!!! Esta professor, Nana, para un muchacho? No puedo decir si es bueno o mal, las enfermidades. M. Parikshit fue maldecido injustamente pero accepto como arregla de Krsna para establecer el plan general de Krsna y tambien bendicion especifica para el. Cuando va a Peru?

Finally I got your e-mail address and I was trying to do a nice letter, but the time goes fast and I did not send it according the plans. 

I would like to Thank you for all your patience, love, tolerance with us. I was so embarrassed after I left California. I thought the worst, but Mississippi was amazing place to live. Your instruction gave me peace to my heart. I lived according your blessings. The last time that I received an instruction from you was in Atlanta, when we meet personally. 

Actually my family and I lived in Alachua. Gaurangi is studying at the Gurukula. She is in 5th grade now and she is so talented. She is good student, their teachers loves her because she is a model student. She play piano, play soccer and draw beautiful pictures. She is introvert and smart girl. Caitanya Lila works at Home Depot. He got up every day at 3:30 AM to worship his 200 Silas and goes to work. (He is worshiping every morning since August 2007) He works in the garden department and he feels OK because he did not deal with any contamination when he works. (such as alcohol, meet, money)

I work in a retirement place, as a home care nursing assistant. I preach as much I can to senior that want to know about God. Sometimes I gave them some books, prasad and Caranamrita. 

We are working only 40 hours per week and we have time for chant japa together, goes to the temple to heard Bagavatham class and eat Prasad. We spend more time at home at evening time . We live close to the temple (12 minutes)

I wanted to let you know about us and what we are doing.

Last year you are here and I did not know that you are giving a symposium in the Gurukula. In the future I would like to know about your visit and I can receive you at home or do some program here. All devotees like s to have programs at home and I would like to have you in our house too. I hope heard about you soon.

All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada! All glories to your continued sankirtan and your peaceful arrival to Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Hari bol!

We have been overcome many times this last year by the fact that we may lose out on the rare opportunity to associate with you Gurudev and we will be very lost if we ever lose this opportunity. There’s also the very sobering and sombering realization that we are not very qualified to associate with elevated Vaisnavas most especially the spiritual master. We realize how much you have tolerated us because our purity is and was between 10-20/80-90 The last 20 years and we are increasing it now with some small realization that we are running out of precious time. We are praying to become more sincere/serious. It’s slowly increasing to 25-30/70 (25-30 percent pure actions/intentions 70/80 still impure conditioning/self motivated actions). When we are struggling with our rounds and work obligations we tumble down to 0-10 and the only way back up is to chant again the next day and try to make up the rounds during the week (treacherous cycle. Trying to find an easier less demanding job. This may be working at Aja’s school as a counselor instead of an agency). Our weekly activities steadily are: attending 4 evening Aratis a week, assisting with service of cooking 4 offerings, following 4 principles strictly (we do indulge in chocolate and sweets too often and decaf sugary beverages!), Sunday school and Sunday cooking services as they arise, 16-20 rounds (still making up from getting behind in November) (4-6 in the morning), studying/reading twice a week personally and two other times with Aja and SB for kids Sunday school group (after our Sunday school bake sale we were able to purchase Aruddha’s Canto 2 and 3 workbooks for the kids! We are very excited. :)) ).

We are also trying to follow your instructions to have a study group the last 4 months which has created an opportunity to be held accountable for regular reading. Lalita and Alisha attend regularly as well as two others through goto meeting every Tuesday at 7 since September, sometimes give or take 1-2 other devotee ladies. We have completed NOI and almost Isopanishad. Format is discussion of questions from two texts from the TPP review, read/discuss relevant points discussed in the two texts we read independently (review the TPP to help guide the discussion of the texts), read a new text together and answer TPP question pertaining to text. We also end the study group with a discussion question based on the text of how to apply concepts learned from the text to our life (this creates an opportunity to “express realizations” or talk confidentially, or sharing advice on how to apply KC). We try to take turns with coming up with a question. Sometimes new comer ladies also attend and we change the format to more reading so they can have the association of Srila Prabhupada (and not us, since we like to speculate too much).

We would like some advice and blessings on how to best continue (maybe we are doing it all wrong, in fact, maybe we are being offensive!) The general inspiration came about last September when we realized we want to regularly read the Bhakti Sastri books again and follow the TPP. We remembered your advice was to grab a study partner (and Dosey doe to Goloka! It’s the highlight of our week. But hopefully not dosey doe to hell!) We want to make sure we are doing this correctly and with guidance. We weren’t sure if it would be sustainable but now there is regular attendance by at least 5 devotees.

Second is We wanted to take a moment to express the very real sentiment that we have missed the go to meeting morning classes. In fact, our morning sadhana became a little codependent to it (we realized that our sadhana was wavery without the inspiration of the class and this is immature. Our sadhana should be independently strong enough to sustain!) . We know you have many other letters and services to attend to Gurudev. We are praying for a small particle of sincerity so we can try to serve you putting our faulty ego, sense of identity, polluted western born belief systems to the curb. We hope we have still something left to offer. 

Heavy discussion point for another week: how to not feel like the child stuck in the middle of a messy divorce and stay afloat during the recent shift in Boise leadership.

We feel like a floundering flying fish with no home in the land or sea. Praying for improving our enthusiastic rounds so Krsna can lead the way.

HpS - Jaya! AGTSP! Paoho. We feel exactly like you. How is the Murari Das? We would like to get a less stressing job, something besides being a member of the Executive Committee of Ministry of Education, Latin American GBC, Diksa Guru relating to GBC. Ooof! Administration is very tough. Also traveling and preaching is tough. Also serving our senses is tough. Hare Krsnas have been called sugar freaks.

We struggle to find solutions.

For us basic principle is to chant as much as we can. 24-hours a day is the best. You can make plans for serving Krsna, but better to chant Hare Krsna. The Kirtan will give you plans, drive your chariot moment to moment!

Of course, the first plan he gives us is get up early and get your rounds done, well.

We are trying to put our teaching into the Kapi Dhvaja every two weeks, the Blog, daily, by personal visits. Please look at the KDh. Supposed to go out tomorrow. Will have Calendar suggestions. Comments on general topics like yours (and ours) that are affecting all of us and how to write to the Blog.

Basically we are still very, very, very weak from all this travel, but seem to be coming back up slowly.
