Trees with feelings [No priority code that fortnight]

2 years, 4 months ago by Namacarya das in Other

Glory, and my thankfulness to the lawless love of Brajadhama!

ŚB 1.2.2

Śrīla Sūta Gosvāmī said: Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto that great sage [Śukadeva Gosvāmī] who can enter the hearts of all. When he went away to take up the renounced order of life [sannyāsa], leaving home without undergoing reformation by the sacred thread or the ceremonies observed by the higher castes, his father, Vyāsadeva, fearing separation from him, cried out, “O my son!” Indeed, only the trees, which were absorbed in the same feelings of separation, echoed in response to the begrieved father.

~~~
How Suta Goswami knows what trees in that situation were going through? Specifically, how does he knows what feelings the trees have and more specifically, that those feelings are of viraha — separation?
Did the trees have feelings of separation from someone (any living beings) or did they especially feel separation from Sukadeva Goswami?
Thank you!
Your servant Namacarya Das
HpS - I do not know. I didn't even think to ask the question. Maybe it was a topic that came up indirectly during the conversation of Srila Suka with M. Pariksit, like Vyasa asking Narada to tell about his life??
Thank you. Stimulating question.
Next?
We go to next question?
Ideas para artes vaisnavas
Hare Krishna Gurudeva
please accept my obeisances
All glories to Srila Prabhupada
I wanted to tell you that I have done well in high school, learning interesting things, and well, I have a hard time accepting it because I see little of it, but mine is in the field of arts and the cultural industry, so I must dedicate myself and develop myself in that area.
My north is communications, culture and the arts.
Despite that, I also have skills for other things, such as administration, guidance and business.
It's hard for me to stay fixed doing just one thing, so I think that over time I'll dedicate myself to different occupations, but within the area that I mentioned before.
HpS - Sounds good. Who is helping you manage your mind?
I wanted to ask your advice on how to deal with these areas in connection with Krishna consciousness.
In music you advised me to compose songs based on the poems of the acaryas.
HpS - Yes, we commented on your progress in other post. Thank you.
In illustration I am good at working with graphite, I am doing a portrait of Prabhupada. I have read that Prabhupada liked the works for the books to be realistic, but I don't know if that applies to all devotional works. Any idea for the graphic part? I've heard a few times that it would be interesting to do comics.
HpS - Some stuff, just do from your own inspiration, delight, but the rest try to do in the practical Sankirtan association of other ISKCON devotees.
In writing I have learned some things in the race. I once heard from you in a class that you can take a pastime from Srimad Bhagavatam and adapt it to modern life for example, can I do that? or put it in a different and attractive context. I've thought about writing philosophically, but people like stories better.
HpS - Yes, but apply principle above.
The other thing is that I have not advanced in the proposal to make a connection between Srimad Bhagavatam and Don Quixote de la Mancha, you also said that you could do a rehearsal of a scene for example, I have not done anything with the excuse of first finishing read Prabhupada's books.
And well, those are the three areas that I dominate the most, perhaps in the future these can be united in the audiovisual field.
The art of theater does not go with me, I am ashamed to do it, to practice it, it is not natural for me, but I understand that it is very therapeutic. Maybe in the future Krishna will bless me to get into this art.
I like all artistic expressions, I would love to experience them all, but I am not unlimited, only Krishna can.
Well Gurudeva, thank you very much. At the moment I think that making devotional art is the beginning for the expiation of what happened in the temple, since they extended the period in which I cannot go to the temple for judicial reasons, so I still cannot do service in that place, I only this remains.
I plan to apply everything I have learned in Institute to my artistic career. I wish to be of help to Vaisnavas.
Piyari Mohan Das
HpS - Are you making correspondences, letters, with other devotees besides this Blog???
Thank you for you efforts.
Very important.
Yes, should do them in part as expiation for moments of temporary insanity, but especially for apologizing for offences, voluntary violence.
When we are the victims of these material reactions, we should not let ourselves become "victims". No, that is Maya's trick. "I am not a victim! I am in control of my attitude to the violence this person is aiming at me, my body, and I chose to help them."
Todas las glorias a Srila Prabhupada
Quería contarle que me ha ido bien en el instituto, aprendiendo cosas interesante, y bueno, me cuesta aceptarlo por que lo veo poca cosa, pero lo mío va por el ámbito de las artes y la industria cultural, así que debo dedicarme y desenvolverme en esa área.
Mi norte son las comunicaciones, la cultura y las artes.
A pesar de eso también tengo habilidades para otras cosas, como la administración, la orientación y los negocios.
Me cuesta quedarme fijo haciendo una sola cosa, así creo que a través del tiempo me dedicaré a diferentes ocupaciones, pero dentro de el área que antes le comentaba.
Quería pedir su consejo para saber como desenvolverme en estas areas en conexión con la conciencia de Krishna.
En la música usted me aconsejó componer canciones en base a los poemas de los acaryas.
En la ilustración soy bueno trabajando con grafito, estoy haciendo un retrato de Prabhupada. He leído que a Prabhupada le gustaba que las obras para los libros fueran realistas, pero no se si eso aplica para todas las obras devocionales.
¿Alguna idea para la parte gráfica? He escuchado algunas veces que sería interesante hacer comics.
En la escritura he aprendido algunas cosas en la carrera. Una vez escuché de usted en una clase de que se puede tomar un pasatiempo del Srimad Bhagavatam y adaptarlo a la vida moderna por ejemplo, ¿puedo hacer eso? o ponerlo en un contexto diferente y atractivo. He pensado en escribir de manera filosófica, pero a la gente le gustan más las historias.
Lo otro es que no he avanzado en la propuesta de hacer una conexión del Srimad Bhagavatam con El Quijote de la Mancha, usted también dijo que se podía hacer una ensayo de una escena por ejemplo, no he hecho nada con la escusa de primero terminar de leer los libros de Prabhupada.
Y bueno, esas son las tres áreas que más domino, tal vez en el futuro estas se puedan unir en lo audiovisual.
El arte del teatro no va conmigo, me da vergüenza hacerlo, practicarlo, no es natural para mi, pero entiendo que es muy terapéutico. Tal vez en el futuro Krishna me bendiga para poder adentrarme en esta arte.
Me gustan todas las expresiones artísticas, me encantaría experimentarlas todas, pero no soy ilimitado, solo Krishna puede.
Bueno Gurudeva, muchas gracias. Por el momento creo que hacer arte devocional es el comienzo para la expiación de lo sucedido en el templo, ya que extendieron el plazo en que no puedo ir al templo por cuestiones judiciales, así que todavía no puedo hacer servicio en ese lugar, solo me queda esto.
Pienso aplicar todo lo que he aprendido en el instituto en mi carrera artística. Deseo sea de ayuda para los vaisnavas.
[Guru Purnima] Gracias
Hare Krsna querido Guru Maharaja
Por favor acepte mis rendidas reverencias
Todas las Glorias sean a Srila Prabhupada, ¡salvador de los caídos!,
y Todas las Glorias a Usted que nos guía tras los pasos de Su Divino maestro.
Hoy, Guru Purnima, después de su clase reflexione un poco acerca de los múltiples maestros que el misericordioso Señor Hari ha puesto en mi camino. Alcance a ver, un poco, de la ayuda infinita que nuestro Señor me ha otorgado y medite en la inmensa deuda que he adquirido con esos maestros.
Sin duda, encontrar a Srila Prabhupada y encontrarme con usted ha sido la mayor fortuna de mi existencia, ¡muchas gracias!… Hoy pude recordar con claridad muchas, muchas, muchas ocasiones en las que fui salvada por vuestras instrucciones... Aún tengo tanto por aprender, soy una estudiante tonta que comete errores una y otra vez, y soy cautivada por maya de muchas maneras. Luego vuelvo llorando a ustedes implorando auxilio… ¡Por favor perdóneme por abusar de su misericordia!
Los últimos años, debido a un fuerte shock, estuve naufragando en un océano tormentoso de oscuridad, miedo y confusión. Creo que mi único logro fue mantenerme viva e intentando seguir sus instrucciones y las de Srila Prabhupada, sin ellas hubiera sido imposible percibir a Sri Krsna en todo aquello…
Ahora, por su misericordia sin causa, mis heridas casi han sanando y todo parece más claro. Hemos recuperado fuerzas, entusiasmo y nos sentimos lo suficientemente estables para empezar a avanzar con determinación.
¡Deseamos ser Soldados útiles, Tenemos una deuda que pagar!... la bendita deuda que tenemos con usted y con Srila Prabhupada, muchas veces ha sido lo único que me motivó a continuar. Confió firmemente en que, por su misericordia sin causa, algún día podremos desarrollar un amor genuino por nuestro muy misericordioso Señor y amo.
Gurudeva, gracias por rescatarnos, por guiarnos en el camino que su Divino Maestro ha dejado para que podamos volver con nuestro muy amoroso Señor.
Su torpe aspirante a sirviente
Karuna-Sakti Devi Dasi
Hare Krsna dear Guru Maharaja
Please accept my deepest obeisances
All Glories be to Srila Prabhupada, savior of the fallen!
and All Glories to You who guide us in the footsteps of Your Divine Master.
HpS - Our divine master, no?
Today, Guru Purnima, after his class I reflected a little about the many teachers that the merciful Lord Hari has placed on my path. Get to see, a little, the infinite help that our Lord has given me and meditate on the immense debt that I have acquired with those teachers.
Without a doubt, meeting Srila Prabhupada and meeting you has been the greatest fortune of my existence, thank you very much!... Today I was able to clearly remember many, many, many occasions when I was saved by your instructions... I still have so much to learn, I am a foolish student who makes mistakes over and over again, and I am captivated by maya in many ways. Then I come back crying to you begging for help… Please forgive me for abusing your mercy!
The last few years, due to a strong shock, I was shipwrecked in a stormy ocean of darkness, fear and confusion. I think my only achievement was staying alive and trying to follow his and Srila Prabhupada's instructions, without them it would have been impossible to perceive Sri Krsna in all that...
Now, by his causeless mercy, my wounds have almost healed and everything seems clearer. We have regained strength, enthusiasm and we feel stable enough to start moving forward with determination.
We want to be useful Soldiers, We have a debt to pay!... the blessed debt that we owe to you and to Srila Prabhupada, many times has been the only thing that motivated me to continue. I firmly trust that, by his causeless mercy, we will one day be able to develop a genuine love for our most merciful Lord and master.
Gurudeva, thank you for rescuing us, for guiding us on the path that his Divine Master has left so that we can return to our very loving Lord.
Your clumsy would-be servant
Karuna Sakti Devi Dasi
(PS We sent photos of some flowers from the garden in the hope that they will please Lord Nrsmhadeva)
HpS - ASA --- It is just a fact that we could have written the exact same letter to Srila Prabhupada. We hope that you are connecting with him through many other sources besides us. We hope to help as Diksa and Siksa guru's under his authority.
Even if we stumble, you can stay upright and help any others get up.
Belly of the whale and Aghasura's big tail
2 years, 5 months ago by Kamagayatri in Other
Hare Krsna Gurudev,
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and your humble services.
We have been looking up the heroes journey on wikipedia due to using and thinking of phrases such as "being in the belly of the whale." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero's_journey. There seems to be a rebirth every day on the grihasta and spiritual hero's journey front. We wanted to reassure you that it is better and thank you so so much for your kindness upon our family by associating with us in Boise along with the whole Boise Yatra. We feel our violent ways we act going from hypo to hyper, fight or flight and freeze is something to improve upon. Association with the guru should always be sacred. We pray we can come to the level of being able to be more upright someday. Chanting, associating, the opportunity to serve not like a donkey but more like a mix of monkey, piggy, the professor and the small inner child Bhaktin can help us live more in the window of control. Dialectics trap us. No word like Thank you can ever express what opportunity we have been given. We just beg we can try again. Thankyou for still tolerating us, my family. Sita, Adi, Arjun, Aja and the Sunday school kids will never be the same again!! 🙏
We are looking at the collective gift of the notebooks and pointers on how to blog/create a notebook. The web post you created has the key inspiration we need to make a story out of our sankirtan. How do we make it a priority when everyday the witch is so tiresome to defeat? Document it?? Balabhadra is also very grateful for the encouragement.
I found this Jungian analyst's quote from a presentation on how to overcome cultural historical intergenerational trauma:
Our Own Shadow Sides Ancient Healers by Gerard Blanchard
Patient service best begins after healers have carefully examined how their own public image bumps into their guilt- ridden or shameful parts. Jungian analyst Robert Johnson wrote: “Our own healing proceeds from that overlap of what we call good and evil, light and dark. It is not that the light element alone does the healing, the place where light and dark begin to touch is where miracles arise.” Pressure is upon us from within our professional guilds and our culture to pursue our light side to the exclusion of noting the dark. Enmeshed in this group mind-set, we can become victims of “psychological bypass surgery of our souls.”
Your aspiring servant in need of your blessings,
Kamagayatri dd
