I'd like to ask a question about japa.
I run a blog on chanting japa, and i use your classes and Japa Joe doc also. (You can check it here:  japa.blog.hu)

You wrote in Japa Joe (rev. 2011.02.11.):
"Then you mind goes into an iconographic rather than linear mode."
I tried to find the definition of iconographic but i wasn't successful.
Can you explain the meaning of this word, please?

                 HpS - ASA -  AGTSP  paoho.  It is a term that you can probably find in Marshall McLuhan's books.     In the mode of passion our mind is working in a line, reasoning:    It's 6AM now, will I have time to take my car to the 24-hour oil change place and get the oil changed before I go to work...

  .... In Iconographic mode, no mental speculation, we are in Dhyana, meditating on things, the Holy Name.   In Ernst Poppel's, "Mind-works", the shows results of his experiments that Western people can keep about 3-seconds of events in their consciousness at one time as one event.  Time is not a line that can be divided into nano-seconds.  It can be complete events, icons, that we can contemplate of up to three seconds.      We discuss this in the Japa Joe book.  A Yantra is a visual icon.   A Catholic will say they that they are worshipping the Icons in the Temple, where we say the Deities in the Temple.  The Orthodox Church is famous for it's Icons.

          Mental speculation: Jnana,    go to Meditation, contemplation: Dhyana, and we hope then to Bhakti!

          HpS - ASA -    ....   !! ..  !        TlgaSP!   Si, el ego falso es el enimigo.  Muchas veces estoy slavado por "trnad api sunicena...".     Tratando buscar los buenas cualidades en otros y ninguna necesidad presentar nuestras y cantar Hare Krsna, Hare Rama.

           En Vrndavana solamente Krsna y Balarama matan a los demonios!

Guru Maharaja, I hope you are well. It has been a while since my last confession... :) I joke.

Guru Maharaja, thank you very much for your blessings you gave me and my husband towards our wedding. And the fruit basket was lovely! 

We purchased the Prabhupada Lilamrita on your advice and have been reading a little every day- we missed yesterday unfortunately- before breakfast. It's really nice reading this book about prabhupada's life. So many wonderful things he did in his childhood! He used to be a naughty boy. I didn't know. And we also  received the Krishna book as a wedding gift although it is difficult to read that one before going to sleep. We are waiting to purchase the Srimad Bhagavatam. I will make the effort to pick up where I left off in the 3rd canto. It was very difficult to read for me.

I also have another question. I was wondering if I have any senior godbrothers who are also householders that I can take shelter from. Or anyone that is qualified as a householder couple that might not be my godbrothers. It would be nice to have their association. I would appreciate it very much.

I am chanting minimum 16 rounds, 4 regs, and some reading. Please forgive my offenses.

           HpS - ASA -  Jaya!    AGTSP.         paoho.          Lot of work being a Grhastha, no?         You have so much nice shelter there, no?    You Temple President seemed like nice Grhastha and as I understand your parents are also nice devotees, no? !                   That's the best,   making relations with many nice Grhasthas in your physical community...    Maybe some other readers of this Blog can send an answer if they also would like to give some special advice and association.  Yes, as a Sannyasa it is difficult for us to give detailed guidance for Grhastha Ashrama, although, following Srila Prabhupada's example, we try to give general advice.

Of course, the real nectar is  Srila Prabhupada's association through all these many, many, many, books!!!

    Guru Dev, I will start for Vrindavan on 13 Nov 2012 and will stay till 23 Nov 2012. I have plan to visit
    maximum placeses in vraj mandal.

    I have a question, How many rounds of Govardhana hill & Vrindavan should be done.

    Please advise, what to do, what to follow and what to perform during this visit.

                HpS - Jaya Srila Prabhupada.   Jaya GGD!   Now is 17th   You are in Vraja!!!!   Sooooooooooooo    fortunate.     You may not read this until after you get back to your home base.    I think there is no better Guru than Vrndavana dhama.   While you are there She will give you all advice about how to serve Krsna.   Of course She certianly speaks through guru, sastra.         Very nice.  Very nice.    Hope you get lots of purification so you can become effective insturment for Krsna!!

Dear Hanumat Presaka Swami,

In first of all I would like to thank very much for your response in my last letter, i really apreciate the time you took to review my letter. I hope you are feeling better now... I'm keeping my principles and enthusiastic chanting my rounds, these days even sooner, since now I'm being able to wake up before 6:30 am. If you don't mind I would like to ask a few questions, I hope it's ok for you sir.

1- In his comment to Sri Sri Siksastaka, His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, says that "the perfect chanting of japa is possible only in ones mind", and then says that "the imperfect chanting of the name Krsna is incapable of causing de greatness and perfect change in the living entities. In fact that imperfect chanting will make then doubt of the kirtana potency."So my question is, how can we improve our japa rounds and he kirtana so it becomes stronger for us and for people who are hearing us?

    ASA - We don't know the details of your present quality of chanting so we can't make detailed suggestions how to advance, but of  course, follow the four principles strictly is essential for good Kirtana. Then Prabhupada, NOI, morning program!

2- When does one can start preaching for other people? The nectar of devotion speaks about 3 classes of devotees, explaining the different characteristics of ash one, and it says that only the 1st class devotee can preach perfectly, but if we read Prabhupada's books and use his arguments and logic without changing it are we able to preach to our friends and other people?

    ASA - Yes.... !

I won't bother you with more questions, at least not in this letter… Thank you Maharaja one more time for taking your time for at least reading my letter, and I hope to see you in a few days! I'm adding a picture of me so you can see that I'm a little different than you imagine!
