Hare Krishna Hanumat Preshaka Swami Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances, all glories go to Srila Prabhupada and Gauranga!

Maharaja, I was thinking the other day of giving bad impressions in Krishna Consciousness, Prabhupada, I think stated somewhere we should wear Tilak 24/7 even in our Karmi Clothes and at work, etc. But I was wondering, if I'm stuck with the material half of my family in the City Mall, and my little brother and sister are screaming and trying to wrestle with me on the resting benches<img alt="" src="http://hps-d6.monkeywarrior.com/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/17.gif" title="" /> <img alt="" src="http://hps-d6.monkeywarrior.com/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/a11.gif" title="" />, I have a visible Sikha, Tilaka, bead bag, etc etc, I think people will often see the 'Hare Krishnas' as some crazy typical biblical brainwash satanic cult or something crazy; all the chanting and marble deitys and books(Forgiveness! No real offenses!!) Thats how I sort of viewed it when I first came in, then the genuine authenticity and goal of the whole thing sunk into me: Krsna Prema Bhakti. Then I was like "Oh! Wow, I get the whole point now! Theres steps, a practical process, etc.."

So should I just wear a hood to cover the sikha and wipe off Tilak in Public scenes to avoid making bad impressions on people? With Tilak on, people tend to treat me oddly enough, or sometimes make fun of me in public .. I just don't want to, scare them away from the movement <img alt="" src="http://hps-d6.monkeywarrior.com/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/15.gif" title="" />

I often worry too if people will threaten me with violence too; I know it's probably rediculous to worry about, but o I react if I get some people coming up to me with fists or weapons, am I supposed to just be like Ahimsa, or run away, run away?

HpS - ASA  --    AGTSP!     Esteemed Bhakta Reilly.  For Sankirtana, I think Srila Prabhupada siad that marking the Tilak with water was O.K.    Personally, I think that you are right in many cases. People don't understand it and they have a bad impresssion. On the other hand their ignorant reaction is one thing and their spiritual benefit is another.
Many different aspects.
It also protects us, no?     Because we are wearing it people won't approach us for materialistic reasons. So, I would say that the important thing is to be always hearing and talking about Krsna and Tilak is good if you can do it. You can even wear India dress rather than Dhoti and then it may not seem so strange.

What do Gopal and Sri Hari Das say?

    yatra in coming june for 9 days.

    And we have a plan to visit Vrindavan in the month of Kartik (Octuber).

HpS = AGTSP     I think we answered this another letter, no?   We may go in May to visit the devotees in Manipur.  We will try to confirm that when we get back to USA and telephone on the 27th Feb.     Then we would not go for Kartika, rather go to Australia.

Dear gurudeva we are preparing everytihing for your preaching here in mardel.
Everybody have confirmed his attendance to the interfaith program, Father hugo segovia, rabbin daniel somestein, Kamel gomez from the islamic community and abdul Karim from the sufis. The meeting is going to be held on wed 14 and thurs 15 march. I told everybody to make a previous meeting in order to make a better organization so i would like you to suggest me topics or some format for the meeting fo a better result. Then on friday the idea is to hold LOB symposium i was thinking in printing 5 picutres on canvas so if you please can choose them  i can start printing them. Those are going to be the public programs besides sunday feast at the loft. Then everybody is happy with a NOI or Bhakti sastri 5 days seminar in the mornings and a japa retreat for saturday 17th. Please fell free to make any adjustment you consider.

Hps - AGTSP  pamho     Do you have the files for printing the pictures?  Interfaith dialog can fall in at least three categories, no:

1. Pilgrims progress, what is the means of advancement in different processes?

2. Utopia, what is the ultimate Goal?

3. Hell, the enemies of spiritual life!

Greetings Maharaja, I am not sure if you've seen Little Krishna, the 3d animated series of Krishna's pastimes depicted in our current mode of human technology. Animations like that involve advanced animation programs such as 3ds Max, Blender, and Maya (Maya is a real animation programs name, LOL).

I believe there was some problems with Little Krishna's production the team had to answer to regaurding one of Prabhupada's letters on animation + movies: 

1)    Are you aware that Srila Prabhupada did not want Krishna to be represented as a cartoon character?

Ans: Yes we are aware of the letter Srila Prabhupada wrote in 1971.

Srila Prabhupada wrote to Madhusudana, “The point is that these drawings should be realistic. Not that you make Krishna a cartoon character and therefore laughing stock. And hippy ideas shouldn't be used either. Whatever technique is there, make it realistic. That will be nice.” Srila Prabhupada letter (Aug 18, 1971)

So in your opinion Maharaja, what do you think should be the standard of a 'realistic' 2d animation of Krishna Consciousness subject matter nowadays? (Something like Ramayana: Legend of Prince Rama) Or likewise?

HpS - AGTSP  Pamho   I think Little Krsna and the Japanese Ramayana were of quality.   We have the BBT paintings as a standard.   The thing is that Little Krsna is fine for devotees who have read Prabhupada, but for new people it will mostly stay as how it is presented, no: The Legend Of Krsna?    Yet, it is a positive legend the are presenting.  Can think of good and bad aspects?
