Escribo a usted enviandole un cordial saludo; me parecen muy interresantes sus planes de apoyar la educacion correcta en una institucion tan importante como ISKCON.

Soy educador y quiero pedirle favor que me ayude a entender algunas cosas que he escuchado entre los devotos, tengo tiempo que conozco a los devotos aunque no acudo tan frecuentemente con los devotos, soy Angel Smirnov.

1- ¿Es malo educar a enviar a los hijos en la educacion academica?

HpS - ASA - [Use Translate.google.com] - It depends on the individual child and the "academy". Some children can focus in very Brahminical things like scripture, deity worship and fire sacrifices. Others are more practical and need to learn more modern history and geography etc. Main thing is that the philosophical basis of the education is correct. Many schools, even if they are vegetarian, are based on "karma-vada" philosophy. Eg. if you memorize this I will put a red star beside your name on the wall in the classroom.

HpS - ASA - In one of the sacrifices mentioned in the SB it says not to sleeep with the head North or west. I hear Prabhupada said head east. As I understand, when we go into deep sleep, susupti, the prana, and the more subtle aspects of the body, mind, intelligence, "rise" above the gross body and then tend to orient toward the south or east. Then when you wake up and "come back into your body" you are in upside down if you were sleeping with your head to the West or North. You feel like your head is in your feet and have to shake and jump for some time to get sorted out.

3- ¿En EKADASI que se entiende por granos (semillas, cereales, o cuales si y cuales no)?

HpS - Ask local Iskcon Brahmanas. They can give good list.

4- y ¿en donde puedo leer sobre el Ekadasi, en el Bhagavat Gita no encuentro mucha informacion sobre esto?

HpS - CC adi 15.8 plus following chapters. Other information is in many different places in Prabhupada's books. In the NOD in Chapter Seven there is more information. There is one article that was supposed to have been written by a disciple of Bh. Siddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada. It cited some source that Ekadasi is so pure since it is related to Lord Visnu that sin personified had no place to stay, so Krsna told him that he could reside in grains on that day.

Gurudeva I wanted to tell U this in person, but due to I had to make some things regarding my trip I can not go to chosica ...and then I did not encountered the time.....

well as U know I traveled to argentina this friday, and I am extremely happy, but at the same time, I know that it will take some time for me to adapt to my new life ¡¡¡ Taking care of a devotee is so nice ¡¡ It is a huge responsibility. It is amazing how Krsna please our desires. I feel so blessed ¡¡¡ NBD is an excellent devotee, father, boyfriend and human being, my family is nice, my friends ¡¡¡ I think that I do not deserve all of this and it is just mercy ¡¡ It is always mercy ¡¡¡

Gurudeva I do not know how it will be my internet connection ¡¡¡ SO maybe I can not be at Japa Joe but I promise that I would try to keep my sadhana , studies and so on ¡¡¡ But please GM give me time to adapt. Gurudeva, my rounds weren't so good since the year started please forgive me ¡¡ Also my BV studies I am trying to catch up on... I promise to be more serious with that ¡¡¡ Also try to find my part in the Sankirtan of Mar del Plata and I will write on ekadasi my report ¡¡¡¡

Querido Gurudeva, deseo contarle hacerca de mi sadhana realmente estoy peleando con un gran anartha para poder levantarme temprano y cantar 16 BUENAS rondas la perseverancia espero nos ayude a ser fijas en ello . por otro lado nuestras rondas estan bien cumplimos con ellas de manera fija aun que en ocasiones se ajustan a las circunstancias, con nuestros 4 principios ahora somos mas estrictas que antes. resulta ser que krsna es muy bondadoso con nosotros tanto para mi mama como conmigo.

Gracias a la misericordia de krsna, suya y de los devotos me dieron el servicio de pintar a las deidades del templo por lo cual estoy muy feliz tambien estoy orando para que krsna me permita ser su instrumento y sirviente sumiso para lograr pintar a las deidades de manera que expresen total dulzura y amor. Cuando el servicio este terminado le enviare fotografias de las deidades; son jaganath baladev y subadra , gouranga y nitay , laksmi nrshimha.

En verdad antes de pintarlas me gustaria recibir su autorisacion sin enbargo los devotos me digeron que  pintara a las deidades antes de gourapurnima y eso es en dos semanas debido al trabajo y a la universidad no me queda mucho tiempo. por favor gurudev disculpe cualquier ofensa que haya cometido a sus pies de loto.

HpS - ASA - AGTSP paoho. We certainly give any blessing we can for painting Them! If the time is too short to do a good job for all of Them, then do some first.

Of course, if you put your rounds and principles and morning program in second place Them that will damage your painting.

Esteemed Professor, Swami Harsh et al,

We are sitting in Ashrama of our disciple, Tandavika Das, in Franklin, Tennessee, after a long and arduous journey from Peru. It was about 22-hours with great physical and mental stress, but we are very happy and in pretty clear consciousness.

1. BOOK RELEASE IN PERU: We went to Ricardo Palma University to make the presentation of the Bharata Sanskriti volume to Prof. Dora Bazan and her husband Ruben Devoto. We were well received and asked to lecture to about 50-students of Ayur-veda officially inscribed in the study offered by Ruben and the University. They were enlightened people from 18 to 58 years old, students, and not only medical practitioners, but also directors of well known clinics.

Dora inaugurated the program and then went down to join the University Council meeting that was going on. Officially we were number 37 on the agenda and she would call us when it was time to present the volume before the Council and Rector.

The advanced copy itself had been done to the highest quality by Visual Service and I dare say that the finished publications will not surpass it. Ruben, Dora, everyone, were very, very, enthralled with the volume and kept looking through it again and again.

After about 20-minutes of lecture Dora returned and talked to Ruben with an anxious look on her face. He then approached us and asked if we could have a short break in the lecture with the students approval.

We stepped to the office next to the lecture hall and then he told as that although we were number 37 on the list there was one "small report" from the University Auditor's office as item 31.

When it came to the Auditor's report it turned out not to be a "small report" but and atomic bomb carefully covered so as to not alert suspicion.

The Auditor reported that after following small discrepancies and then make full research and documentation himself and with his Staff, he was now reporting that over $250,000 had been embezzled by members of the university academic and administrative staff, many of whom were members and present in the Council Meeting.

Basically, falsified funding notices had been given to the University treasurer who had released the funds. These then had been banked and loaned at 20% interest.

Of course at this point all pandemonium broke loose and every subsequent item on the agenda went under like a stone in the ocean. Dora is a Dean. She was not charged with embezzling funds but some of her secretaries were. She then took the volume with place markers and directly showed it to our Rector, Dr. Ivan Rodriguez, who in the middle of the chaos looked at it and told her to tell us that it was an amazing publication and it only confirmed his opinion of the work that NIOS has been doing with the university and in Peru, and after this chaos is dealt with he hopes to give proper respect to us and all facilitations to NIOS and their own IECOO to develop this kind of work.

2. NOW: We will call Dr. Sahaab and see if there is any special work for us. We still don't have the "Page Maker" files from Sanjaya which are at least as important as the hard-copies of the book, as these will be used to make the electronic copies of the book that will be marketed at Amazon.com and other places.

There is a lot of work for ISKCON Ministry of Education, Goloka Education and here in our home-town, but it all seems to be in good proportion and will yield up to a plan and calendar within the next few days. One of the most prominent tasks for us and NIOS seems to be seeing whether Dr. Eduardo Gostelumendi, whom we met at the last academic event in Lima, wants to co-author a "book" with us. He is a very respected, informed and intelligent Freudian psychiatrist in Peru and even internationally.

The idea would be that we would each write a little taking the dialog through different topics, including other people as appropriate and then publish the volume in July, organize a robust event at the Peruvian National Library in August with exhibitions in place for two weeks before, and a discussion of the contents of the book by the two principal editors and the other contributors.

Our hope is that by this NIOS might produce something as important as Hamlet, Don Quixote, Das Kapital, Mein Kampf or other publications that have been central in changing the world (for better).

108AM. Public Session of Congress is over. It was Hell Past Human Imagination. Actually, not figuratively, we were about three inches away from a brain stroke. Got a 10,000% super Regional Representative for you. From him, us, everything else can develop.
Today post congress meetings with Big Educators. Eg. Aravinda Das. His College, Sankirtan Parties, distribute about 250,000 books a year.
We'll post this to the ASA Blog now.

I am a little back from my reading (BV) I am just reading the translation no the purports, for me is difficult to travel and continue with my same routine .. Thank GOd I am in the temple in CHile now so I can attend mangala artik every day sadhu sanga etc, Please forgive my lazyness and stupidity ¡¡¡¡

I am growing up jaja I used to be anspoiled child from my dad and mom now it is time to grow up.. Very intense moments with NBD ¡¡¡ his kids ¡¡¡ They are so wonderful , special and deep in many aspects, wonderful souls that I have the opportunity to serve ¡¡¡ Grhastha asram is to develop humility, patience, etc right?? JAya we are not afraid, we feel really enthusiastic¡¡¡ my mind, maya the witch tricks me sometimes but we continue with enthusiam we go to our intellegence ¡¡¡, and follow our heart ¡¡¡¡¡Now I realize more what we have learned in BV ,girls fixed in just one man ¡¡¡ JAYA RAMA
