hare krsna maharaj, pamho, agtsp,
thank you very much for your mercy in India by allowing us to travel with you.
Some development on PhD front

ASA - Jaya!    AgtSP!     Thank you for traveling with us.  Your association helps so much.  PhD = Plough Department,  Ha!   Ha!     Haw...

Our guide, his guide and some other contemporaries are trying to publish A handbook of indian management.

A handbook of indian pyschology has been already been published by  http://www.ipi.org.in/events/ip-courses-2013.php this research group is Branch of Aurbindo Society.

We were thinking we need to pitch SB here. Esp difference between manas, buddi and indriya. {mind, intelligence and senses}.   In traditional pyscho only mind and body are concerned or if we see Mr Freud .. his id,ego and super ego is there.

if we can develop this then we can get par-atma. generally indian scriptures talk of ethics, morality world view. but exectp for Kapila-Sankhya none talks about it

and how these [mind, inte and senses] are effected by 3 modes. this would give us 9 diff personality types. Any suggestions that we move in this line a bit or not ?

hope we are not giving you trouble.

HpS =  We are set to give lecture on this Friday the 26th???  At Visva-bharati University.  Very much we want to just ask questions from the audience and then focus in on one of the many aspects to this problem.    In the NOI, which constitutes first instructions for neophyte devotees, in Text Three Prabhupada talks about this a little. He cites "maya tatam idam sarvam...".  So, this is where he focuses first.  Cites this text many times. Do you see him paraphrasing another text from BG at the same time???   What concept is the most fundamental?

Why Siva Wears a Moon!!

12 years, 2 months ago by hps in Hot Topics

AGTSP   paoho.    We have always wondered and asked many, why Lord Siva wears a moon on His head. For this He is called Sasi-sekhara etc.   Sri Hari Das saw an authentic India movie, Siva purana, where it explains something like Candra took two daughters of Daksa as his wives, but he only liked one so he mistreated the other. Because of this Daksa cursed him but Candra took shelter of Lord Siva who them kept Candra on His head and in this way protected him.

Jaya!

Eventually all our questions will be answered.  We just have to go on chanting Hare Krsna, reading Prabhupada's books, and watching Hindu movies (in that order).

HpS - ASA - AGTSP.   Thank you. We have seen most of the links, but the interview we wait to see. Dr. Mabbett has arranged a big program for us with the Center for Oriental Studies at Monash University. It seems that our reading of E. T. Hall was arranged by God because that is the topic for this lecture.  Thank you!

Mythology

12 years, 3 months ago by tcsd in Hot Topics

Dear GM, PAMHO I have been thinking about this for sometime, so I just want to respond to your reply on the post about mythology. Essentially what you are teaching is that I don't know very much and that I should just thoughtfully try to follow the footsteps of our teachers and our tradition.

ASA - Jaya!  Thank you so much for this topic.  We are back from the jungle!  When you day, "I", do you mean we our you?  We do know enough to follow our Acharya's with realized knowledge of Sankhya, and I think you have a lot of this too from your contact with other Asian systems, but as you do not have it, you should acquire it, and you can!

Science is not very definitive in its account of the big questions. And our experiential base is quite limited. Hence deductive knowledge tends to be more helpful than knowledge built on induction. Do I have the basic points correct?

ASA - Well, even our citations from Einstein make this point that science doesn't answer the big questions in terms of who or what is in control actually and even the so called little questions of how cats see ghosts, how we can actually fly to other planets, and how to avoid divorce are not answered well. The atheists were better in the past.

I just want to keep listening and learning because conviction is the quality that seems to develop very slowly in my case. By conviction I mean the faith and understanding and willingness to accept Krsna as God and everything that this entails. If I can just remain to some degree in the association of devotees and listen and speak about the absolute truth, preferably in a personal form, then this seems to be the best path for making life worthwhile. Please don't forget me. YHS, Tcsd

ASA - We think about you a lot. How is the Baladeva????       We just finished reading Edward T. Halls, The Dance of Life, that Harsh gave us. Of all the anthropologists we have read he is the greatest. We recomend all of his books and Carl Jung's Tavistock lectures.    From this we can see that the SB is not mythology. There are many cultures that can do things that American and European science CANNOT explain. By following the principles of SB we begin to see things differently and then we can live in that world even.

I just remembered that U asked me to sent U the reports about NIMSAR I will do it tonight so sorry I have to my get use to my new schedule....

I am having more association with devotees doing programs at home, yesterday for instance we were to Jambavan's house made some bhajams took prasadam, talk about our lives in terms of NOI (T4) nice ....

Pujari is good in chosica in wilson but we do not have enough pujaris in wilson to do all the turns ¡¡¡ but it something that I can handle ...

I have to go to see LAD I really miss him, I feel bad because I do not have enough time to go and visit him buuu

One Godbrother asked me if U are going to go to India next year .. I told him I can not tell, but he wants some hint about that because he wants to go next year with a group of godbrothers but he wants your association during his first trip. May U comment me about this topic??

Thank all so much Gurudeva for your inspiration hope to connect with U soon
