This last fortnight started with us still camping at New Govardhana near Monterrey, Mexico.

H. G. Gadadhara-gosai Das and family et all still hosting us, with so many devotees eg. Aristasena Das, Asta-sakhi and Subhadra-mayu Devi Dasis, Karuna-shakti Devi Dasi, Dhruva, Dhanesvari and girls, Arya-strestha and Saccinananda Das’ and so many others working on the ASA Sankirtan!

We continued with the Friday night Caitanya Cinema Circles watching Oscar’s Universal Form and then summary extract of Brother Son, Sister Moon.

For last four nights we moved to Gadhay-gauranga’s restaurant and guest house in Monterrey. Simple but great. Continuous rush of backpackers reserving rooms. We also had huge Harinama to the Lion’s Garden around the corner where they have given use of their ancient garden for Sunday and other festivals.

In general, Hari-lila Das, Mataji, Kuvera et al appreciated that there are fantastic preaching opportunities in Mexico. People seem to be simple, warm-hearted (but also can become angry like children sometimes too).

In Monterrey we did big cultural program at one of the oldest and most prestigious language schools. Bhakta Guillermo was the Master of Ceremonies, contact. Harilila Das did Intro to Sanskrita Language and HpS did Hamlet and Arjuna.

·     Everyday Mangala arati and Gaura arati. Local bhaktas coming for classes

·     Accommodations rough like campinggg.

·     Complicated packing and travel to Mexico City. Shuffling luggage, wrong Terminal, Guest Lounge…

MEXICO CITY

Arrived. First class apartment with Janardana and Arya Srestha as roommates. Formal arrival lunch with 10,000 devotees, tamales and frijoles!

Evening meeting with Diksa candidates (All in Spanish!). Gaura arti…. Rest….

Rama-navami

·     11.30AM – Diksa with Bh. Sundara Goswami

·     2-4.30PM – National Congress and Assembly of Deputies, Commission on Cultural Relations, Session on Relations of Mexico and India with Ambassador of India (ICCR), Minister of Culture and five more top rank Mexican Dignitaries, television, first class Indian Dance (Subhadramayi DD et al), Abhirama Thakura (Hector Behara).

Nios was certified by the Indian participants, Hari-lila Das, Ranchor, as being first class representative of India, and by the Mexican participants, symphony direct Ricardo, Govinda-pramodini Devi Dasi et al as being first class representatives of Mexico, Latin America.

Ambassador said that NIOS had organized in three weeks what he had been trying to do over 15-months. So many practical and spiritual questions from the heart for HpSwami.

1.  First, they will laugh at you,

2.  Then, they will try to kill you,

3.  Then, they will expect solid example and knowledge to follow.

We have come to the third phase. Now so many challenges to be grown up institutionally.

… After the intense program in Assembly Room Seven (El Chuachasumach), they took us right into the Main Hall with 500 national Deputies, debating laws and referendum, walked us down through swirling mass of Delegates, standing and meeting in the aisles, greeting our sponsor until we were all sitting in the first row. Then our sponsor (tall as a regal tree) passed a note to the Directoress of the Assembly (twenty feet above the Assembly Fooor) and she smiled and gave us “The most warm welcome for the NIOS/International Delegates from India just coming from the workshop on India/Mexico Cultural Relations, with sincere wishes for all success in our work! Hare Krsna!”

(Now saying “Hare Krsna” is like saying “Salam alekham” to some Muslim friend.)

The building was an example of the greatest architecture in the world with six story vaulting ceiling.

Marched out, back to our Ashrama while talking with Ricardo about his symphony conduction in Carnegie Hall and our contacts with Havi Das, (Ilan Chester) and Symphony of the Soul.

·     Quick evening Prasadam and run to the temple (fighting chest pains) for the Rama-navami evening program with 600-devotees.

Ayee de mi!  Caramba!  Chihuahua!

Every day was like that in Mexico City. Can look at Monkey’s Diary of a Traveling Creature. Big picnic in the park, premier of Spanish subtitled DTC-UT-Peru. Screaming, complicated rush to airport (fighting chest pains), dumped into the USA at Customs.

“Oh, my God, thank you. God bless America”.

Now we are just putting our feet on the ground. Adjusting things in the Big H(ouston) and well head back to our Base Camp in Nashville (Murfeesboro).

“Where are you going after this???”

We don’t know. We need to sit down in our Base Camp at 903 Hillcrest, TN 37129, considering things with Abhiseka and Nitai-gaura-sundara Das and then plan for the Final Months.

If developing a NIOS Campus is progressive, then we can see never leaving Nashville again. Otherwise, sort the few boxes of stuff there and maybe go to Houston and Mexico.

Very unlikely we’ll go out for another Mexico, Richmond, Boise tour.

We need to settle down for our last days.

Brother Ass go back to India, Yamuna bath, in a clay canister. (Haw!  Haw!  Haw!)

O.K.

The Sun is as 6.43PM. We had to review Monkey’s DTC, collect the notes for its Preface and then write this (with little chest pain, and eye strain).

Now, lettuce (let us) dress up and go down the lane from the Sannyasi Place to Nila-madhava’s Alter for Gaura-arati and three last rounds.

·      11^th about noon we SWA to Nashville, (BNA), then we skedaddle to The Boro, 902-Hillcrest.Then we  work to get out Base Camp in order.

·      Tonight Srinivasa Das, Mother Guru-bhakti Devi Dasi, Jaya-hari Das, Abhaya-joshi Das et al are arranging a sneak preview of DTC-US (USA)  {Tada, Tada, Tada!!}    in The Gauranga Hall.

9^th = Sunday Festival.

10^th = SB class.

11^th = Hou to BNA.

Again, plan to settle in our Base Camp and look at everything with NgD/AsD et al and plan our next move.

We feel that Krsna is instructing us that basically this is the last time we will do initiations. From what we know, Radha-krsna Das in Houston, Swami Yadunandana in Spain, are acting very nicely as ISKCON Diksa gurus, and very compatible with out ASA efforts.

Lord nRSMhadeva will go back to the Boro, but Lord jagannAtha will stay in Srinivasa Das, Su-gopi, Sundara-radhika Devi Dasi’ AzrAma.

This may be the last Kapi Dhvaja.    We find ourselves more and more riding a Donkey³ (Half-dead, Half-deaf, Half-demented) or maybe we are making spiritual progress.

Yet, this morning, for the first time, we got the feeling that we might stay until 84-years old, but just as a Hari-nama San-Kirtan leader.

(Unless Putin and Nato toss a few tactical nukes at each other in the Ukraine, and then we will be publishing Kapi Dhavjas in Goloka. Jaya!)

Hare Krishna. How r U?

HpS - Awwww! We have been pushed left right and center for the last few days. Went from Monte morellos to Monte rey and had programs/programs/programs. just go to the Blog. Thank you all so much. hope you niece (nephew?) is growing well. now we are in mexico city. because of your work we take the time to develop the kapi dhavja. one of srila prabhupada's kartals.

This was a hard week for me and my family.

On Thursday my sister ate something (plums). This caused an allergy and we had to take her to the emergency room. Thanks to Radha and Krsna this wasn't that bad. But she is on bland diet for a week.

On Saturday, my mom was feeling dizzy. Since she is a diabetic, we thought that maybe her sugar went up. So we had to take her to the emergency room. She received some injections and improved. She has to be more careful with her diet.

Some weeks ago, my brother told us he has cancer. He has decided to continue his treatment away from us. He says that he is fine and that they are going to operate on him soon. I try to keep communication with him.

Despite of all these events, we are trying to keep a sane sadhana 16R, 5AM, 4P. Reading SB everyday.

We learnt that Krsna controls everything... We are very grateful that HE always keep us in mind.

Things at school are ok. We are preparing everything for Easter holiday. According to Waldorf Pedagogy, we take this celebration to talk about a new beginning , transformation and revival.

I wanted to express my deepest gratitude to him for all that he does for us is always praiseworthy. 🌷🌷🌷

My rounds have improved, my sadhana too, I am still in the community with several services, one is the service of attending in Bhakti Lunch, from Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to the students, so at noon I can not sing the Gayatri, I have been recommended to sing it twice in the morning or afternoon, that indicated Prabhupada, what do you said about it?

HpS - Jaya. AgtSP. paoho. We never heard that SP said that we could chant it twice at one time. Rather we heard from Dhrsta-ketu Das that Srila Prabhupada told him that chanting after the Sandhya had passed was useless.

However, Trivikrama Swami would chant his gayatri at the first chance after the public program eg. Sunday feast was over and he was personal secretary to Srila Prabhupada for some time. Hare Krsna.

we are only two devotees distributing to 80-140 prasaddam students. For us it is a daily prasadam feast. Krsna Bhagavan Prasadam Ky!

Another doubt about it is that the sunrise here is at about 6:40 and sunset at 7:40. Should that be my schedule to sing the Gayatri? ❤

HpS - Can chant during morning Sandhya ie. after stars disappear and before sun appears, although we heard SP said, 6am 12pm 6pm was also good. Do them at a regular time.

We are trying to serve better, once a week I prepare and do the arati in Mangala Arati and Guru Puja, once a month I sing the Guruastakam and the Vandana Guru, I want to learn to play instruments, Krsna gives me time and its blessings! 🪷🪷🪷

Once a month together with Syam Krsna Gopal we cook for the Tacos Tuesday program. 💓💓💓

We are in the Bhakti Sastri with Laksmana Prabhu. 🤓

During the break everyone went to Miami. Syam and I preferred to stay for other activities in our free time, we lifted Gaura Nitay to a very simple standard and made arati mangala, it was very rewarding since Syam is always cooking at that time, at regular times. 🥰

Now that you will be longer in the USA please give us your blessings to be able to visit you, take darsan and direct instructions. 🙇‍♀

Querido gurudeva porfavor acepte mis reverencias.

Sólo quiero darle las gracias por su visita a México. La visita a Monterrey estuvo llena de enseñanzas, fue como ponerme de frente con todos mis miedos y situaciones en donde he actuado mal. Mucho que pensar acerca de relaciones en general, vida simple, austeridad, desapego, qué es la amistad, familias amandose y luchando juntos, entrega a guru y Krishna, etc.

Que alegría poder ver a devot@s, cada uno con habilidades únicas y defectos que los hacen humanos, pero no les impiden poder servir a Krishna. Siempre hay tantos problemas y en todos lados, pero todo es más fácil con Krishna. 

La depresión, tristeza y ansiedad son sentimientos tan comunes para mí, pero estoy aprendido a ver todo en su justa perspectiva. Supongo que ser mamá de dos adolescentes no es fácil para nadie. Sólo espero que mis hijos puedan tomar buenas decisiones y sean felices con Krishna.

Durante mi regreso a casa, después del campamento en Monterrey, me dijiste que esperabas que conociera en mi camino a gente interesante y tener siempre libros de Srila Prabhupada en mi bolsa. Pensé que eso era muy difícil para mí, porque por lo general me cuesta compartir la conciencia de Krishna con personas que no conozco. Y me encontré de repente en una panadería esperando mi turno para pagar, yo estaba cantando japa y una mujer delante de mí volteo varias veces a mí, de manera insistente, diciendo que había un pajarito, pero yo no entendía a que se refería. Una vez más me pregunto del pajarito y vio mi japa y me preguntó - ¿es un pajarito?- Yo le dije ah, no es un pajarito, es un rosario, con el, canto un mantra. Me dijo que se escuchaba tan bonito, que pensó que era un pajarito. Le expliqué un poco y como no traía libros en la bolsa, le di una tarjeta de NIOS, también le hablé sobre ti. Así que, me di cuenta de lo fácil que es compartir a Krishna, sólo por tu deseo. Me gusta compartir a Krishna con otros y me gustaría ser más útil en tu Sankirtana. 

Por otro lado, el próximo 22 al 27 de abril se realizará el festejo del 150 aniversario del glorioso advenimiento de Srila Bhaktisidhanta Thakura en Tepoztlán. Vidagdha coordinó con los organizadores del evento la participación de ISKCON y el GBC de México SS Guru Prasad Swami. Así que, esperamos la pronta visita de su SS Guru Prasad y otros vaishnavas que vienen representado a ISKCON. Esperamos sea un muy bonito festejo.

Dear gurudeva please accept my obeisances.

I just want to thank you for your visit to Mexico. The visit to Monterrey was full of lessons, it was like facing all my fears and situations where I have acted badly. A lot to think about relationships in general, simple life, austerity, detachment, what is friendship, families loving and fighting together, surrender to guru and Krishna, etc.

What a joy to see devotees, each with unique abilities and flaws that make them human, but do not prevent them from serving Krishna. There are always so many problems and everywhere, but everything is easier with Krishna.

Depression, sadness and anxiety are so common feelings for me, but I am learning to see everything in its proper perspective. I guess being a mom to two teenagers isn't easy for anyone. I only hope that my children can make good decisions and be happy with Krishna.

During my return home from the camp in Monterrey, you told me that you hoped I would meet interesting people on my way and always have Srila Prabhupada's books in my bag. I thought that was very difficult for me, because I usually have a hard time sharing Krishna consciousness with people I don't know. And I suddenly found myself in a bakery waiting my turn to pay, I was chanting japa and a woman in front of me turned to me several times, insistently, saying that there was a little bird, but I did not understand what she meant. Once again he asked me about the little bird and he saw my japa and asked me - is it a little bird?- I told him oh, it's not a little bird, it's a rosary, with it, I sing a mantra. He told me that it sounded so pretty, that he thought it was a little bird. I explained to him a bit and since he had no books in his bag, I gave him a NIOS card, I also told him about you. So, I realized how easy it is to share Krishna, just by your wish. I like to share Krishna with others and I would like to be more useful in your Sankirtana.

On the other hand, from April 22 to 27, the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the glorious advent of Srila Bhaktisidhanta Thakura will be held in Tepoztlán. Vidagdha coordinated with the organizers of the event the participation of ISKCON and the GBC of Mexico HH Guru Prasad Swami. So, we look forward to the soon visit of your HH Guru Prasad and other Vaishnavas who come representing ISKCON. We hope it will be a very nice celebration.

i thank you again-again for accepting me in any way.

i dont know what you in in our this earthly existence. We are not writing to hear our glories, but trying to understand how can we help you in any small way.

We have huge baggage of interaction with many temple presidents. We always avoided the issue to avoid offence 1.

our biggest baggage is against temple president of Mira Road. We met him , just after getting married in 2010 july. He being a senior brahamchari, directed us to lady preacher to be in contact with us. We were facing issues balancing our expectation in marital, professional and daily sadhana.

There was constant recommendation by the lady, about having coapulation and having a child. We were internally completely convinced that we (me , my wife, my in-laws, and my parents) dont have parenting skills, assistance to upbring a child esp with expectation of SB 5.5.18 (gurur na sa syāt sva-jano na sa syāt) .

Still we got some how inspired or moved by " yasya prasadad bhagvat prasado" and constant reminder in BG about having a son to leave your wife with , we begot a child.

So we are blessed to have such a child. Infact the best things happens to us is 1. Getting Srila Prabhupada books, 2. Serving you and 3. Serving/playing with Parikhshith.

and as things stand today -- we have a child of 11 years old. According to our VARANASI temple president in 2020, such a child that he has not seen in whole preaching field of Parayag and Varanasi.

we dont know what Karma he has, but he was very sponatenous in devotional service, we get constantly think about interaction with he participating in angas of bhakti.

However we always get this question - that why begot him, and had large part in giving him a broken home.

we just can not obey any temple president directly, until we are able to get answer

that -- how can my association to you (temple president) help me in applying SB 5.5.18 for this 11 year old boy, as this boy is their because of a temple president and whats written in BG

Though we implemented the decision of begeting child , but decision was inspired by a temple president's advice

we have been neglecting this, by chanting again and again, we finally got inspiration to ask you, so that we can confirm it.

HpS/ASA - Seems quite correct to us. Even if you are just part of the congregation of a Temple, it seems that the Temple President should be concerned that you, the parents, have Temple help in raising their children, removing their bad habits preventing good parenting etc.

One letter from Srila Prabhupada he says that as Grhastha your first duty is to Gurukula and second to Temple.
