VP offering Subhra Devi Dasi

10 years, 6 months ago by chas d lind in Special Category A

Gurudeva, Sent this yesterday and seems to have disappeared, once more. Thanks for your patience!!

Dearest Maharaj,

Please accept my humble obeisances on this auspicious day of Your appearance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to You.

Poised eagerly, with pen in hand, so to speak, to write a glorification of You, I hear the rain incessantly pouring and thunder rumbling… auspicious signs…  There are innumerable ways to start, and unlimited ways to glorify You. However, this fool is not qualified, however I will simply open my heart and see what it dictates.

How, fortunate I am, and all those around me to have come in contact with you somehow or the other. Each day, I always remind myself that my present service I have has come to me from, Your, mercy. Somehow, by you kindness, you offer my devotional service, which I know I don’t actually deserve nor appreciate enough. I only wish I could do more not so much in quantity but in quality and sincerity.

  I was remembering recently the “Nectar of Instruction” and how you tell us that this little book spells out everything in Krishna Consciousness. As part of my offering, I am making an effort to distribute 20 of these treasure books before the end of December. Four down, sixteen to go…I often review verse one (NOI), however, this past few months I am reflecting more on verse 3. The six principles favorable to the execution of pure devotional service;

utsahan niscayad dhairyat

tat-tat karma –pravrtanat

sanga- tyagat sato vrtteh

sadbhir bhaktih prasidhyati

But it is not easy being patient and remaining enthusiastic in times of trials and tribulations. Through all types of weather, you continue to be there, to help and guide, support, encourage and inspire us through the inevitable storms.

On this special day, I wish to send a simple gesture of deep gratitude for all you have done, for all you are doing, and for all you will tolerate in nurturing this fool.
Your insignificant daughter,
Subhra devi dasi

HpS - ASA --- Thank you. Can you send the power point show? If it is not too big you could even add the audio. My gosh. Then you could even save it as a movie and them upload it to the YouTube!!!!
It looked really, really nice. If I had kids in that community I would want them there: "To hell with going to MIT, to hell with making money, to hello with everything. I'm going to put my kids in the Goswami Academy, so they can be happy!"

Vyasa Puja Offering

Dear Gurumaharaja, Hanumatpresaka Swami Maharaja, congratulations with your Vyasa Puja.
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to our Srila Prabhupada!

In this journey called life, on this planet called earth, where life is so profane and yet so mystical, you have been drawn to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, and became an heir to his unparallelled legacy. But it was only after you saw academic life for what it was, something to make money with. This teaches that we can only let go of our mundane dreams once we've seen their naked reality.
You visit circles where you enlighten people in your own personal way of teaching Bhagavat-dharma, by using your experiences and vast knowledge and understanding of nature in the service of our Srila Prabhupada ("It is not always necessary to come to a conclusion, sometimes all you can do is get people to open up to new perspectives," certainly is a practical perspective), while at the same time you are working hard to establish a culture and basis for teaching and learning in ISKCON.
You are not one who is famous for going around the holy places of India to speak katha and do kirtan, rather, you sacrifice that for what you see that also needs to be done, putting to good use the qualities you've received from our Lord Krishna. Your working 'behind the scenes' is a humble effort, and that is a fine ornament.
Besides this, you manage to serve your disciples in so many ways, one of which is being present daily at fixed times to chant japa and do a little program together online, another being the blog where you deal with difficulties and idiosyncrasies of your disciples and others who show interest. Next to that, you prepare a nice class for the online community through the Hawaiian yatra. Holding disciples, many of who struggle to keep a steady and meaningful devotional life while not living in ashrams anymore, and some who do even while living in ashrams, is certainly above comprehension for one who's never took up such a duty. The spiritual subtleties of Guru-tattva are at work here, and we are learning along with you.
Just as learning to build a meaningful relationship from a distance. After initiation, the rest of life is there to learn how to balance duties. There are so many little practical pieces of wisdom that i am learning to implement in my life. Themes that hang around for a while, and then get replaced by new ones, in the hope that the old ones are implemented deeply enough.

I do not consider myself a high class disciple. Factually, i didn't even fulfill my vows 100% this year around. In spirit, i am quite dedicated, but it's that life is so overwhelming. My duties seem to become bigger the more i become more awakened and purified, and my ability to deal with them seems to be getting smaller. Waves of guilt wash over me, and i struggle to accept any honest attempts as 'good enough'. Are they really 'good enough?' I'm still terribly inclined to have things my way, and i attempt to change circumstances and others rather than changing myself. I'm just starting to wake up Gurumaharaja, and it is crazy and heavy. Life is heavy. Guru is heavier. Get up early and get your rounds done. Such a teaching. Such a savior.
When o when will be the day that i will call out the names of Gauranga!, Nityananda!, while walking along the banks of the Yamuna, completely intoxicated by love of Godhead, not caring about physical needs?
Thank you for picking me up, Gurudeva. May Lord Nityananda take you by the hand and deliver you at the lotusfeet of Lord Gauranga. And may we, disciples of yours, be allowed to serve you forever on, serving Srila Prabhupada and the previous Acarya's, who are all manjari's and other close associates of the Divine Couple. And may we be allowed to see and understand that, while we are in these embarrassingly limited bodies of ours.

Your servant,
Raghava Pandita dasa

ASA - AGTSP!!!  paoho.  Thank you for your thoughtful words.

"Rāghava Pandita brought with him various kinds of food for Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. The food had been cooked by his sister, Damayantī, who then packed it in bags (jhāli). Thus the stock of food was generally known as rāghavera jhāli, "the bags of Rāghava." "

Food for thought! <img alt="smiley" height="23" src="http://www.hps.monkeywarrior.com/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png" title="smiley" width="23" />

I think you are on the right path and there is nothing to do other than mature youre effort. It is not that you should do something very different or even more. It is just that you should do what you are doing with more concentration, let it become deeper and give you more strength them to go even deeper.

Vyasa Puja Offerings - From SSD

nama om vishnu-padaya krishna-preshthaya bhu-tale

srimate Hanumat Preshak swamin iti namine

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Holiness Hamumat Preshak swami, who is very dear to Lord Krsna, having taken shelter at His lotus feet.

Gurudev, when I first heard about celebrating your “Vayasa Puja” day on 23rd, first thing came to my mind, is it already a year. What do I write or what do I speak? The more I read, I came to know how little I understood about the whole process. And also realized that how merciful you are in accepting an un-worthy person like me as your disciple.

When I sit and meditate on your words, the first thing came my mind is your “simple living and high thinking”. And also with your mercy (when you are at our place), I am clearly able to see the difference between the “need” and “want”, and often times I confused with both of them.

And another greatest quality of you that I like is “remembering the lord all the time” ananya-cetah satatam yo mam smarati nityasah (the highest goal) Recognizing the lord everywhere and in everything (things that we see and use daily and ignoring lot of times)

Every single time I hear from you, what amazes me is the clarity and depth of knowledge on all the subjects and everything again connecting to Krishna naturally.

When I have a setback in my life, all I do is to mediate on your words “set Priorities and move forward”. That one line of “set Priorities” changed my whole life and motivating me to step towards “Krishna”.

There so many things that I want to write/speak, but unable to express in words (finding it is very difficult to understand what the heart felt with mind) Praying the Lord sincerely, that one day I can become worthy of your disciple, by following your footsteps.

Your Humble Servant

-Subala Sakha Das (from Richmond)

HpS - AGTS paoho....  Please write with some more news for this humble Blog!    How is your family, what is your service to Radha Gokulananda, how is Sankirtan, how is your Uncle...     Thank you so much for this letter.   Honestly we worry about you when we don't hear from you. This letter makes us happy because we see that you have such nice basis in BG and Krsna merciful speeches, you are looking for good qualities in people!
