Dear Hanumat Presak Swami Maharaja,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I have not written to your Blog for a long time.

HpS - AGTSP!! Whenever I walk along the bank of a river and forest I think of you and your movie! Not a long time for Brahma.

But this does not represent how much I think of you. Not a day goes by—rarely even moments go by—that I am not remembering your lessons, kindness and mercy, in some way shape or form.

TB - Hmmm! Maybe you are mad!

On the subtle level, you caught my heart. I feel very close. But now I am angry and curse this damn pandemic consciousness because physically the separation is becoming unbearable. Our border is apparently blocked until at least mid 2022. They say separation makes the heart grow fonder.

Krishna plays like that too. The Gopis curse Lord Brahma for making eyelids blink. I have to accept it and pray that we do get a reunion before the year strikes 2025. Regardless, we will follow you to the next universe.

Please allow me to update some of our activities:

Recently I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts with Distinction majoring in Philosophy and Cultural Anthropology.

HpS - Jaya!!! Fireworks attached. The house painter who became a cave art reader!

# * * ! ! *

I cannot thank you enough for pointing me towards Anthropology. All things considered; it was the sweet spot for my sankirtan that I was unaware of before our discussion on the plane from Arequipa to Lima 2018. This is a testament to your qualification as guru. You could see the appropriate path for me. I am eternally indebted to you for your suggestion to improve my devotion service.

HpS - Now you can have a monkey and not feel guilty.

My graduation ceremony was held in Victoria. My wife and I visited Dr Mabbett and his wife Jaccy at their home in the mountains, where we shared some friendly exchanges and some fond memories of you. He has fully retired now and is working on his biography.

HpS - Super!! I'll send the link to this letter to your esteemed guide, Professor Samaresha Bandyopadhyay! I feel that Prof. Mabbett is always welcome on magic carpet.

Currently, I am pursuing a Masters of Teaching degree, with teaching areas English and Mathematics, which will allow me to teach in high schools and eventually universities, anywhere in the world. If I cannot find a good school, I may build my own—Krishna willing. My father and I sometimes discuss an alternative Gaudiya Vaisnava school based in Mayapur.

I am too blind to see the future. But I am willing to give my life to Krishna regardless. That I can guarantee. He has already taken it. There is no other option. I just hold on and try to develop a good attitude. He always empowers me, and then He outdoes and overwhelms me.

Speaking of alternative schools, we took our daughter, Suryani, out of the local gurukula and put her in a local Steiner school because, although she was academically a top student in her class, her colours, her enthusiasm for life, were fading away.

I would be happy to share my observations of the professional, pedagogical, sociological and spiritual issues we encountered at the local gurukula in a future post if you are interested.

I was fortunate enough to do some sashtric teaching there last year and found there to be quite a few issues. I have very little experience in the field as a teacher, so I do not know exactly how to help just yet.

For now, we it is our duty to protect her. Fortunately for our daughter, two other top students followed her from the gurukula to the Steiner school where their vaisnava spiritual backgrounds are well admired and respected; they are already on sankirtan.

And, she got her colours back. Also very fortunately do us and her, she has a natural interest in devotional service. I believe she gets that from her mother. Every weekend we take her to the temple for morning program and she does different services in Radha Krishna’s paraphernalia room, getting invaluable impressions and blessings.

HpS - She must be a young lady now. Soon you will be "Old Grandpa Dhruva!". 😁

Our younger daughter, Sarasvati, is developing good qualities rapidly, absorbing the activities of the rest of her family.

My in laws are turning back the clock with regulated lifestyle, Seva and mantra.

My better half, your good disciple, Dhanesvari DD, has recently launched our new family business of lady’s and girl’s fashion dresses; block printed and stitched in Jaipur India. So far, dresses have been purchased and shipped, generating a nice atmosphere and income in the home.

Krishna is very kind to us.

All glories to you Maharaja; always inspiring and guiding devotees around the world in Krishna Consciousness. We pray we can meet with you in person again soon.

Your servant

Dhruvananda Das

Petición de Siksa guru

ASA[e] guru-tattva, siks guru

Hare Krishna Grudeva

Por favor acepte mi humildes reverencias

Todas las glorias a Srila Prabhupada

Quiero preguntarle, si es que usted me permite tomar la guía formal, siksa, de Su Santidad Yadunandana Swami.

HpS - AGTSP. Jayapataka Swami has some more formal structure in his relations with other siksa gurus and his disciples. I don't look at it in such formal way.

Anyone one who enlivens us en devotional service by citing from the presious acharyas or relevant scriptures is a Siksa guru.

The teach according to their level and natue.

O.K.?

I think you will be very well situated to accept Yadunandana Swami and Srila Prabhupada as tow of your Siksa gurus and me as one who has initiated you according to the scriptures. Annual report. Siksa and sisya naturally with FMP etc. etc.

Caturthi - Reading Update

4 years, 3 months ago by sugopiradha in Special Category B

Hare Krishna, guru maharaja. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Recently, I have been reading about Jung's student years. This section broadly sheds light on the "dreams" aspect in the title "memories, dreams, and reflections." Specifically, Jung discusses his first deep reflection on life after death when his father passed away. Following his father's death, Jung focuses on his quest to determine a profession for himself.

An important thread in the major life events that Jung discussed is his reliance on dreams. After his father's passing, Jung claimed that he saw his father in a few dreams. Within the dreams, Jung's father said that he would return home. As a result of the dream, Jung felt "ashamed" for occupying his father's room and for thinking that his father no longer existed. Yet another time, when in doubt about what he should make his career, Jung dreamed of investigating intriguing creatures and digging in the wild. Through such dreams, it became clear to Jung that he should study science.

Generally, I've seen that individuals take dreams to be some sort of imagination or fantasy. However, it remains interesting to see how Jung took his dreams so seriously, to the extent that he remembered them even in his old age. He believed that they had a direct bearing on his immediate reality in the world. Consequently, he allowed his life to be shaped by them.

When I was reading Jung's book, I was trying to recollect our KC perspective on dreams. I remembered how Srila Prabhupada explained that when one sees gold and mountains in real life, those two elements amalgamate and appear as imaginary golden mountains in dreams. I have also heard from you, guru maharaja, that Krishna, showing mercy to His devotees, helps them burn their Karma by experiencing bad dreams rather than painful situations in real life. Lastly, I also remembered how various devotees mention that dreams regarding Krishna and the spiritual master should not be understood as imaginary and should be considered real.

Thank you so much for patiently tolerating me, guru maharaja. I pray for your mercy and blessings.

your insignificant servant,

Sugopi Radha Devi dasi

HpS - Yes, it is in one purport that Srila Prabhupada comments that sometimes we have inauspicious dreams so that we can pass through certain animalistic, insect, desires without having to take another birth, also, that dreams of Krsna and the Spiritual Master at not ORDINARY.

Other dreams are like experiencing the gross world. Thoughts come according to the laws of psychic nature and cities, trees, parks according to the laws of gross nature.

How do we interpret gross nature.??? Hmmm?

So interpreting dreams may be subject to the same standard.

More!

Next year seminars at the Campus.

Caturthi - Reading Update

Hare Krishna, guru maharaja. Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I have continued my reading. I read about Jung's first few trips, his reactions to the so called freedom that awaits one as one grows older in terms of being able to consume intoxicants, associate with the opposite sex, etc. He also explains his struggle in deciding what his profession would be, since he had a deep interest in both the sciences and the humanities.

What interested me the most, however, was this statement of his: "[Plants] were living beings which had meaning only so long as they were growing and flowering - a hidden, secret meaning, one of God's thoughts. They were to be regarded with awe and contemplated with philosophical wonderment" (83). Here, I feel that knowledge of the Virat Rupa would be very beneficial for Jung to deepen his "wonderment," looking at Krishna's beautiful creation. I remembered how you often say, guru maharaja, that flowers are Krishna's smile, grass is Krishna's hair, etc.

This is what has stood out to me this time, guru maharaja. I will continue reading.

Your insignificant servant,

Sugopi Radha Devi dasi

HpS - Super. I hope Prof. Harsh can collect these in ASA[e]. Yes, we feel that possible Jung's Bhava was above virat rupa and below paramatma, maybe hiranya garbha. Very high! Hope always we find a Jungian who wants to learn SB, NOD....
