Hare Krsna Gurudeva:

AGTSP

PAOHO

Hope this meets U in good health ¡¡

Gurudeva today I was chating with a girl and she told me that she feels that being a nun is for looser girls, for girls who did not find anyone so they do not have anything left ...And just join religion a temple or church in order to avoid the loneliness ¡¡¡ Plus she told me that she did not believe in celibacy buuu

I was shocked about her replies I wanted to reply that serve God is a higher taste but she desconnected .. please can U help me with this topic .. She was really convinced of everything she was saying moreover she was kind of trying to say that being "modern" is good

I am afraid she may influenced some young ladies ¡¡¡¡
Thank U all so much.

HpS - ASA -  Jaya.  AGTSP.  Yes, we are a mostly recovered health. Two days could barely stand-up and just little water and juice, but inside happy.  Then few days to full strength. Then, Dr. Desai caught the same virus..  Ha!   Ha!    Ha!!!

"Looser girls":  BG 7.21 talks about this so nicely.

C:\Users\swami-hp\Documents\ABC\VedaBase\bg\7\21.htm

Princess Yum Yum is so convinced that she is right because she is really poisoned with evil and ugly greed at the heart. So she won't give it up, so, 7.21, Krsna gives her faith in modern science and a science based life, catching a husband with a big science education etc.

But it is a trip that leads to the test-tubes, and chemical waste at the end, and there is nothing but pina coladas and cigarettes at 55 years old.

Temple is for losers: Yes, two kinds approach Krsna, but they are winners because they approached Krsna not lady's magazines to solve their problem. It is also for smart girls who are curious about religion, its the most interesting idea, and finally the highest class girls, those who know the happiness that the greatest women saints tasted, making God happy. All glories to Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, Srila Prabhupada and You.

First of all I wanted to request you do not post this letter; at reading it, You will understand my reasons, but if you think is best publish I understand.

I would like to apologize for not writing earlier, I had a hard time to write, things really get tough when you take the commitment seriously Krishna.

HpS - ASA -   AGTSP....   Paoho...  Thank you for your letter. Yes, this Blog is not a good place for dealing with details of administrative challenges. We read your letter and again and again, no thing comes up is that we cannot make a detailed commentary, evaluation unless we know details of the situation. Administration is dealing with the details of devotional service. A Sannyasi or even Brahmana is supposed to be more focused on the general principle of the things.
For example, when a reporter asked Prabhupada if there were problems in his temples, we heard Srila Prabhupada say that this is the material world there are problems everywhere. So as a general principle we should not waste our time trying to make a problem free temple. We should aim for maybe 80% perfection and then focus on all working together in Sankirtana yajna.
To put it another way: Devotional relations come before administrative relations. If we try to see the President, Ministers, as people, our Sankirtana partners, then it will be a lot easier to improve things than if we see them only in administrative roles.
From your letter you seem to have been doing heroic efforts to do that and getting success.
So, yes, send us general desription of the challenges and results and we can post them for informing us all and make our small contribution with our comments also. Yes, takes courage and honesty. In the end Krsna controls the results so always be happy and enjoy Sankirtana and the Sankirtana Party.

Bringing the Holy Name to East Side East Dallas

11 years, 11 months ago by aron illo in Personal Sadhana Reports

He could have been on any dust road in Mexico, in his old small pick up parked under a shady tree.  But we are in urban East Dallas on East Side Avenue on a hot Sunday afternoon.  His name is Polo and he's a mariachi, a Mexican musican.  He is very taken with us for he keeps smiling, his eyes shining bright on his worn tired face.  He graciously accepts Karma la Justica Infallible.  The Maha Mantra brings him great joy and he can not contain his smile.

We come upon a young Indian couple.  A work crew is renovating their newly purchased home.  They have heard of Radha- Kalachandji Dham but have yet to visit.  A beautiful hard bound Bhagavad Gita now resides in their home.

Twin girls about ten years old are having a great time playing under a sprinkler in their front yard.  They have on matching suits and goggles.  We approach their father in the driveway at his vehicle.  He is interested in Sri Isopanishad and all are fascinated with the changing body picture.  Mom is inside but sends out a nice donation for a book in Spanish.  Everyone receives a mantra card and we have the best time chanting together.

We decide to move over to the corner market, Mercado Mexico.  Mari is heading to her truck with her husband.  While the men speak I present to her Karma la Justica Infallible, explaining the profound wisdom and relief from material existence it contains.  I complement her on her lovely pink flower earrings telling her how pretty they are, very eastern.  She is flattered and thanks me.  Then she asks " does this have anything to do with Ganesh?"

"Are ya'll across from the laundry mat?", "The church on your right, just before East Grande?" are common questions we get while on sankirtana.  Years of distributing Srila Prabhupada's books and Sri Sri Radha Kalachandji Mandir have had such an influence on this city.

HpS -  Wow!    AGTSP    You and Misra Bhagavan Illo have been getting the highest nectar because of your courage.  Courageous gentleman, courageous lady...  How is life in the Temple?   Do you live near??

A Srimad Bhagavatam question ...

11 years, 11 months ago by Dandava das in Hot Topics

Hare Krisna Gurudev. Please accept my humble obeisance. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I hope you're fine since last time you reply my letter.

HpS - AGTSP......  IN the DTC we explain that.  BAD    virus last three days.

In your last reply, you ask me about Krisna's book. I'm reading Srmad Bhagavatam in the morning after Mangal Aratik with my wife Carcika dd. I'm reading Caitanya Caritamrta and others small books as karma, etc during the day, daily. I'm preparing Bhakti-Yoga Introductory Course in Power Point to teach it in The Spanish Bhaktivedanta Institute too.

About of the latter, i have a question for you about how many joyanas are 1 kilometer.

Srmad Bhagavatam 5.23.9 say in the purport:

"The Vaikuṇṭha planets begin 26,200,000 yojanas(209,600,000 miles) above Satyaloka" Then 1 Yojana 8 miles = 12,88 kilometers.

"Thus the Viṣṇu Purāṇa describes that the covering of the universe is 260,000,000 yojanas (2,080,000,000 miles) away from the sunThen 1 Yojana 8 miles =12,88 kilometers.

"The distance from the sun to the earth is 100,000 yojanas" Then the distance is 8.000.000 miles = 10.304.000 kilometers.

I've been looking for distance between the Sun and earth and i've found that's 149.600.000 kilometers =  11.614.906,83 miles.

Sorry if my question is speculative, but i'm trying put in place of a speculative student and i'm trying have any answers for him/her.

Thank you for all, Gurudev.

I'm at your service.

Your servant Dandava das.

HpS - Is big topic.  If  you look on Wikipedia it has a discussion of yojana. It seems to be a multiple of the width of a finger. Whose finger? Indra's finger? M. Pariksit's finger at the end of Dvapara yuga?   Then are yojanas they same on brahma loka as they are on the earth. Next it does not seem to be talking about the distance from the earth planet that we know to the sun, but is talking about the distance above "bhu-mandala" that the Sun keeps.  All the planets go around the earth in orbits that fall within a few degrees of inclination.  The distances in the Bhagavatam seem to developed from that perspective. Sadaputa Das explains this in detail in his books on Sacred Geometry and Structure of the Universe.   Which takes longer, to go by public transportation from NVM to Madrid airport or Madrid Airport to Barcelona?  Which is farther?                   Seems yogis could go out on sunbeams pretty easy but jumping UP to the loka ... ~planet.    Was the challenge.  So distance are calculated from that perspective.

is difficult to explain
