Dearmost Srila Hanumatpresaka Swami Maharaja,
My obeisances at Your lotus feets.

ASA - AGTSP.   our swollen feet.

All glories to You and Prabhupada!

Here the Janmastami festival was nice. Several devotees looking to serve, and this is the real opulence in the vaisnavism.

I really miss Your presence. Right now, the presence and preach of advance souls, who are the guides of us, is reserved for the lucky people who travel.

I hope You will visit Peru again.

Please, consider, even in January, to visit Uruguay, at least for one day. This will be the seed for the transformation for a yatra who really need Your preach.

Your servant

His Holiness Lokanatha Swami sent us the following information:

flatbed trucks, double decker buses, etc. This produces an effect of a

people will be attracted to pulling a cart with Harinam Prabhu on the cart.
A procession with big Harinaam posters, nicely decorated on the cart with
loud kirtan along with distribution of parsadam, mahamantra stickers &
Srila Prabhupada Books.
21. Kirtan Mela - Arrange festival of Kirtan, a couple of days or at least

Report from Toronto

11 years, 11 months ago by Rashmin dd in Personal Sadhana Reports, Other

Dear Guru Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!!
It has been too long since I last wrote. Reading the kaphi dvaja inspired me to finally write. I suffer from procrastination. Regarding the date for next year's ratha yatra festival on Toronto it will be the second weekend of July - the 12 and 13 of July 2014!! We look forward to hopefully see you!

HpS - ASA -- AGTSP!   Paoho.  Yes, so nice to hear from you. O.K. RY dates are on our Calendar.  We are sure inclined to come, and now it is on the Calendar.

Yogendra and I are having a daughter :) She is expected on November 11. Very soon basically. Of course we are not agreeing on a name... Maybe you have some suggestions maharaja?

HpS - Very nice. She's not an ordinary person.  One factor is that the day of the week she appears fixes the first letter of the name. That is why P'pada kept same first names at initiation (I hear). So, ask some Vedic Indians to help. Beyond that I don't have any ideas, but don't start arguing where she will go to college yet. (Ha!  Ha!  Ha!)

When I sent the last letter I forgot to include a question. One of my husband's friends got us a set of Gaura Nitai deities in April. Recently we started to do regular offering of incense in the morning. Should we do a more elaborate arti or simply incense is ok?

HpS - Is nice to offer a flower.  You and Yogendra can even look for flowers to steal during the day.

I become afraid that They don't get such a high standard of worship as that in the temple and therefore are committing offenses.

ASA - Main offering is love.  That will tell you what to do. Second is cleanliness and Third is punctuality. Set a time standard you can do. Fourth is all the details in the Deity worship hand book. Be sure to give them regular classes so they get good character development and don't grow up to be crimminals.

My sadhana is steady. Chanting 16 rounds, 4 principles. Currently reading 4th canto of Bhahavatam about Prthu Maharaja. He just became content with only performing 99 horse sacrifices.

HpS - We are on Chapters 17-18 this week.

I am glad to hear you are healthy.

Your aspiring servant, Rasa-mandali devi dasi

HpS - ASA -  Your aspiring, guru, teacher, counselor.   Please give our respects to Yogindra Ji and your family and President!

Bhakti Shashtri in New Jersey

11 years, 11 months ago by Nilamani108 in Other

Dear Maharaj,

Please Accept My Humble Obesiances,  All Glories To Srila Prabhupada.

I am writing to follow up on our discussion in Richmond regarding Bhakti Shastri / Bhakti Vaibhava in the North East (New Jersey Area).

Currently I am trying to present Bhakti Shastri to around 15 students - they are asking tough questions that I can't always answer.  A couple of these are:

Can Sadhana Bhakti be considered Uttama Bhakti?

With reference to BRS 1.1.23 -

•aprärabdha-phalaàpäpaà, küöaàbéjaàphalonmukham
krameëaivapraléyeta, viñëu-bhakti-ratätmanäm

In which sequence does Bhakti vanquish sinful reactions - starting from oldest first (aprarabdha or from prarabdha).

We would also like to request that you please put some time on your calendar for visiting us here.

HpS - AGTSP.  Paoho.   Was so nice to hear from you.  Soooo nice. Yes, we were very happy to meet you in Richmond and25we were hoping that you would be merciful and persistent and write to this humble Blog.   Honestly it is the only way that we can handle our correspondences. As I write this to you there will be about 25-more devotees reading it and some of them will have the same questions as you. Then we don't have to answer the same questions like five times.
First, these are hard questions. We don't have any Sastric reference, but what we have heard from senior devotees, who do base their substance on sastra, uttama adhikari starts at the level of Bhava. Adau sraddha, sadhu sanga....  this famous verse gives all the level of bhakti, no? BG 4.10 purport has the verse nicely put and of course Prabhupada paraphrases it in NOI 7 and everywhere. Madhyama adhikari starts with Bhajana kriya.
Is O.K?
Second, we have never read whether the seeds start being removed from old to new. We have a suspicion that they get removed in terms of how they come up in our service. If we have to stop smoking to go on the altar then the motivation to go on the altar pushes us to eliminate that anartha, so that will be destroyed at that point, no matter when we acquired it.

Third, we had nice talk with Braja-bihari Das this weekend as part of our annual NIOS symposium. Do you know him???    Hari-lila Das is here with us and he knows your good self. BBD is graduating some Bhakti-sastri students and will start Bhakti-vaibhava in like January. Are you formally connected to the ISKCON Board of Examiners to give approved BhSastri/BhVai diplomas?
If not lets get it taken care of. We can co-ordinate with BBD.
Please send us your ideas.
