Hare Krsna, Mates!

AGTSP ... paoho....-[;o]/\___

8.01PM...  Just putt'n the work to rest. Long day.  Our neighbor Robbie Robinson, saw the grass getting knee high here before M. Matsya had their gardener, Wayne Robinson, come and cut it. Robbie put a note on the door that he could cut it, so we called him and worked it out for $35 a visit. We were leaving for someplace and gave $35 for that day and total $108 for two more days.

He never came again and then Wayne cut it and worked out a regular deal for us.

I called Robbie's number twice and it said, "This subscriber is temporarily disconnected" or so.

Then, a week ago, after two months, he called and asked if we had any work.  I chided him that he owed us two jobs on the lawn. He apologized and asked if his sister hadn't told us he was in Rehab.

He kept calling, so  I said to come by Monday morning and we could talk about fixing garage. The paint was coming off and it was getting rotted. We talked about it Monday and he said that he had been a profession painter for 10-years and we worked out what was a reasonable price to me.

Then we went to Ferrar Brothers Hardware. They have Hardware, Equipment Rental, Repair; an old Murfreesboro family. Half the people working there knew him, his cousin was married to so-n-so's cousin who used to play Blue Grass with ol' Jeff, who went to High School with . . .

So, Monday and today I've been haggling over details of the work, making advances for buy used ladders, cigarettes, Mountain Dew and Snickers. He called his son, Mathew and he joined the work.

When I even get close to the cigarette smoke I can feel the poison in the nicotine, but eventually we talked about God, and like so many people here, he believes in God. He's had some right up-and-front experiences with Him, but it was a LOT of energy, but in the end the garage is scraped, rot-dug out and rebuilt, painted, and looks like a new building for $550 for supplys and labor for two painters for two days.

Also, talked with Dr. Samaresh while we were out today. The main thing is that we seem to be getting to a stable level of team work. He had very thoughtful comments about "Solaris".

We did Nirjala Ekadasi until noon, then offered Lord Nrsmhadeva Boiled Potato with salt and butter, Almond Butter and raw Walnuts, steamed apple and figs, fresh juice from two apples, and two bananas.

O.K.

Good night!

3-gayatris, 16-rounds, banking for HpS/NIOS, answered URGENT mail, rest up to 5-days ago.

Tomorrow we go to Chicago at noon.

HpS - ASA -- Very interesting. AGTSP.  I guess we will be there during the 50th Anniversary and Gita jayanti.  Yes, calendar says 8-12th Dec there for us. Of course, Govinda p. Dasi is principal person to help. Jiva Goswami Das lives some distance from Temple and has his wife and daughter to accomodate.

Hari-lila Das lives about 20-minutes from Temple and we can't check with him because he is in India until the 7th.

In any case you should get in touch with Caitanya-caritamrta Das and his esteemed wife Subhra Devi Dasi. He is our disciple for long time, contractor, working with Temple projects. She is Principal for the Goswami Academy, Disciple of H. H. Bh. Caru Swami and very excellent, professionally certified and lots of word in public schools as a Teacher and then school Principal. She is very cheerful and intelligent person and because of you PhD in education, everything you should be in touch with her.

Maybe got visa but no place to stay!    Yet, good chance to show interest.
I will send a copy of this letter to them with copy to you.

Hare Krsna Querido Gurumaharaja, Desde Alicante, Spain!! que vive desde

             Hare Krsna Gurumaharaja!

TODA GLORIA A H,D,G SRILA PRABHUPADA!!     HARE KRSNA!!

HpS - ASA - Of what we can understand of the situation from Nashville, Tennessee it seems very nice, on a very good path to the little town in the big forest, Vrndavana.

Radha desa is a little isolated. Are there children there?

I used to travel a lot with my friends Lokanatha Das. We had marrionets and shadow puppets. One show was, "The Sparrow Who Lost Her Eggs to the Ocean". It's in a purport in the BG!

More news as it happens!

Expect big adventures!

Artists and the Sacred

Dear Guru Maharaj,

Please accept my humble obeisances, all glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Since we last met, I spent some time visiting friends in Atlanta & family in South Carolina. I spent some time working on a few pieces commissioned by relatives and then I just arrived in Charleston a few days ago. It took longer than expected to get here, and I have less time than I hoped for but where there's a will there's a way. It's all very exciting.

Blake & I met right away to set a schedule for everything we need to do, and it's a long list, but I asked advice from a curator in Sumter and I was relieved to find that it all seems a little easier than I was expecting.

The other day we met the gallery owner who will be hosting our show. She was very amicable and willing to help us with promotion. The venue is small but well placed. It is a storefront at a psychiatric office that hosts art exhibits in their lobby. It is in a "hip" part of town with restaurants and bars where a lot of young people hang out. There's even a yoga studio right next door. I was thinking maybe in the future we could even arrange for you to speak at an exhibition there. I'm sure both the clinic and the yoga studio would be thrilled to have you.

I've been trying to develop some imagery to visually represent different concepts like the body mind and soul and their interactions, so Blake and I were discussing at length about our theme. It's amazing how sometimes a simple conversation can have a profound effect of enabling people to witness their own ideas which may otherwise have remained embryonic in their minds forever. I really felt like a "philosophical midwife" in this instance and I could practically see her coming to significant realizations about how the soul is different from the brain, about how only love of God can truly satisfy the self.

Although we are currently utilizing her flat as a studio space, the roommates and visitors  are constantly coming and going. She has pictures of Krishna and Mahaprabhu all over the house (even a Jagannath sticker on her car dashboard) and I usually put out a photo of you also while I'm working so I never feel like I'm ever alone with just her. Even though the situation is not ideal, it's not the worst either. It looks like she also likes to hear your lectures, so I try to play them as often as possible while working.

We just had our first meeting with our other contributors and they all seem as fired up as we are about it. Our goals for this week are to complete as much art as possible (including a commission I got some time ago) so we can put together a press packet by the weekend. We want to include an image & short statement from each contributor. After that we will try to get my videographer friend Chap to compile some "work in progress" footage from the studio that we can circulate as a kind of trailer.

As far as my personal sadhana goes, everything is streamlined, and sometimes a little scattered, but a full program seems to get done somehow or other and I'm chanting a good16 rounds early in the morning and getting some reading in. Throughout the day I try to engage everyone around me in hearing and chanting as much as possible, especially since it's kartik.

I'll be staying at my friend Chap's house for the duration of my stay here and trying to instill in him some good habits while I'm around. He is struggling on his own out here and he is very grateful to have some association.

The situation is a bit chaotic, because I have to deal with my friends' lifestyles and their mundane daily struggles like loss and rejection etc, but it seems they really appreciate a Krishna Conscious perspective on things. I've been cooking prasad for everyone practically every day and even though I have to deal with using other peoples cooking supplies and occasionally people tasting bhoga and other inconveniences, the atmosphere is all very nice. I'm trying to imbibe the mood that Srila Prabhupada had early on when engaging hippies and not not focus on things that people couldn't or wouldn't do, but rather focus on what people can and would do. The way I see it is that this kind of independent preaching is like being in a speedboat rather than a giant tanker. At the temple, you don't feel so much the crashing of the waves of the modes of material nature, but this program enables me to be more flexible and maneuverable in terms of getting things done. Although it's kind of a bumpy ride I feel safe knowing that if I stay focused on serving you and Krishna I will always be protected no matter what the situation.

Your shudra servant,

Ekashma Das

HpS-ASA - Super!  AGTSP!!   paoho...   you serving prasad at the event??

I forgot about the painting of Prabhupada that you gave us and then I saw it on our book case and now end up contemplating it as the King of our living room whenever we are there. That's all it really takes, no?  How would Prabhupada look at this situation...

Keep yourself a little grounded as a leader so that you can teach other people to do your current job and then everything can expand.

When is the event?

Send a link to the Trailer.

Please send photo of the Blake and others!

Slowly making progress

8 years, 7 months ago by bhaktadaniel108 in Personal Sadhana Reports

Hare Krishna Maharaja! It is very difficult to explain everything in a brief and reasonable way but I shall try.

Very big preaching windows opened up when I made friends with some famous youtube guys (they make inspirational positive thinking "spiritual" videos and are highly succesful like hundred thousand followers online), they put me their videos and now i am getting popular online, i am getting contacted alot by young people for guidance.

I have several projects for my farm's development, like building my own living space, trying to get some money and build a greenhouse. Planning for next year.

I am 25 years old now and have no income and little support from family other than their house and my own separate bhoga. I am almost recovered from the toxic 6 year long relationship that ended last spring, although still pretty effected by the subtle attachment. Relationship with my parents is OK getting alot better but still very strained and hard for me to be around them, my oldest sister has colon cancer and is doing chemo, im not so close with her and they dont want my opinions.

I am seeing progress in my life, although i can only go a couple months of following strict standards and 4 regs after that i slip up and everything falls apart, until i suffer so much that i get back on track. I can see a change of heart happening. I think i am a very dysfunctional and damaged person, but i have hope someday it will work out and i can be a real devotee.

I think if i get some stability in my life, maybe a part time job, a car so i can go to the temple more then i will do much better. Sometimes i doubt trying to make this farm project happen i would rather travel with you, but i am always running from discomfort and think it's good that i stick something out for once. What do you think?

Sadhana has been all over the place. But i listen to lectures everyday. I wish i wasn't this way but it is so hard for me to change. I want to please Krsna and i want to be your disciple! It's been a very strange year, but i really have realized ALOT about my own life. I still plan to see you after you return from this trip and before the mexico one plus i can go see you while youre in chicago.

Thank you so much for being part  my life and looking out for me!

Here is a little hut i am building in the side of a hill and my altar.

HpS - ASA -- Hare Krsna!  My God!   After so long we are hearing from you!   Actually, your news sounds pretty good, like you are in a place where you can make tangible progress.

It seems that you plans are sane, getting a part time job that would be basically in the mode of goodness, give some opportunity to talk with reasonably sane people and have enough time for more intense KC activities.

I've seen Krsna arrange such stuff.

Basically, keep writing to the Blog!

Will we see you in Chicago? We'll be there from 26th - 2nd November. I'll text you Etasa-krsna Das's phone number. He is just about your age and character. I think I he can help you arrange visiting the Temple.

Again, I think your stategy, plans are pretty good, but locally the thing is to keep checking in here at the Blog.
Do you have some fixed standard of Japa now?
