What is the best book to read? Here is a quick summary (of his excellent books) --
-- Godel's Mistake, Quantum Meaning, and Moral Materialism are very technical - primarily focused on science and not for a beginner
-- Signs of Life is focused on Evolutionary Theory and its alternative -- again not a topic if you are not keen on this subject
-- Mystic Universe is specifically focused on cosmology -- but you mentioned already this is too involved
-- Sankhya and Science is all about philosophy of science -- especially about the philosophy of empiricism and its revision in Sankhya
-- Uncommon Wisdom -- this is a scientific critique of atheism by picking out the scientific problems in the ideas on which atheism is based
-- Six Causes -- this is a quick survey of Vedic philosophy of creation -- after a while it gets somewhat in depth, but it maybe a starting point
-- Is the Apple Really Red? -- this is meant to be an introduction -- it is a short about 100 page book and comprised of 10 short essays
There are 10 short essays, and each essay is self-contained (almost). Here is a essay by essay summary to see what the book is about:
