Hare Krishna Hanumat-Presaka Maharaj,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

From 2000 to 2005, I was serving in the brahmacari ashram in Vancouver. I hope you remember me.
ASA - AGTSP   paoho.   Hmmmmm?   Not immediately!

I have a question for you. If you would kindly take a few minutes of your precious time to answer it, I would greatly appreciate it.

I heard, either from you directly or from another devotee quoting you, that if you managed a herd of cows and you wanted to constantly have milk, you needed to have 21 cows.

Could you please explain the reasoning behind that number? Or, in-other-words, how did your calculations bring you to that number?

Looking forward to hearing from you,
At your service,
Damodar Gopal das

HpS - As I remember, one Bhakta, Mark Chatburn, did his Master's Thesis on the topic and his conclusion was that at 20 cows, the number of births and deaths is equal. Of course, this is a general principle.
If half are ladys cows, and they give milk naturally 1/3 of their life, then at anytime in  herd of 20 cows there willl be 3-1/3 giving milk. And that is suficient for 20 families of 4.  SO each family has to see to the happiness of one cow.
O.K?
