Question - subtle principles

Hare Krishna Dear Gurumaharaja,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

In your last report you mentioned:

Four principles gross AND subtle.

I would like to know what person can do to avoid subtle breaking of principles (e.g. lusty thoughts)?

".....what person can do to avoid subtle breaking of principles (e.g. lusty thoughts)?" - In some respects NOTHING!

We heard that Kavi-chanda Swami asked Prabhupada when he was a b'cari, how can I avoid thinking about illicit sex, and Srila Prabhupada responded that because of the birth he had taken [we have taken] he [we] will not be able to stop thinking about illicit sex, but if we engage in devotional service we will be able to tolerate the agitation.

So, that is one aspect. We Western dogs will have these thoughts up to the end of our life, but then there is good chance they will be washed away by the rage-ing river of death.

Another aspect is that we can certainly decrease them by Sato-vrtteh (NOI 3), following the Sadhana of the previous Acharyas. During Mangala arati is less likely to think of these things and if we condition our mind with Sattvik devotional practices...  BooP! .. It will think of other things.

The whole process, all verse of SB... are the answer to the question in one sense.

1) Tolerate and go on.  2) Keep good life to reduce.   3) Don't 'entertain' them when they come.
If we have thoughts of having sinful relations with men, women, animals, trees....  then don't entertain the thoughts. "Oh, hello, lusty thought, please sit down in this nice chair. Have a cigar and some brandy. Let me talk with you, See you, Enjoy you, Invite your relations".
Chant loudly, engage in service and the unwanted guest will go away (sooner or later).

O.K.

Guess we see you in India soon!
