All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Hare Krishna, dear Guru Maharaj; please accept my humble obeisances. Lately, I have been trying to connect with you through the japa program. I want to tell you that I feel very inspired in my spiritual life, and I also feel balanced materially and emotionally; these things are important to me for maintaining tranquility and peace of mind, allowing me to pursue my spiritual life with enthusiasm. I also understand that when I must undertake austerities and spiritual activities—such as fasting and *parikramas*—I do so with great love and determination. On Balarama’s appearance day, I marked the 15th anniversary of my initiation. Much has happened during this time, and I have come to understand that by walking the spiritual path hand-in-hand with Guru and the devotees, I can move forward with joy and wisdom; for the Guru, by giving us the Hare Krishna mantra, acts as the greatest protector and blessing in this age of Kali-yuga, and nothing and no one can defeat his devotee. Please allow me to take shelter at your lotus feet again and again, and to perform my prescribed duties as a human being and a spiritual soul with determination. Thank you so much for the years since I found you in my life; I wandered lost for so many lifetimes, yet I now recall that as a child I learned the *Guru-vandana* song from my father. I sang it for years without realizing that one day you would come into my life. That is all, Guru Maharaj. I have just one question:

1. What does it mean to be a pure devotee, and what is the process?
