Ayurveda Perspectives

Hare Krishna Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances,

All glories to Srila Prabhupada,

Thank you so much for pushing this Ayurveda program. We feel that Ayurveda will be more and more relevant in health care in the future. And a great opportunity for preaching. Actual industrial system is falling apart. It becoming inefficient, expensive and difficult to access.

As I see it we have to differenciate two different approaches in promoting Ayurveda.

One is the traditional one, represented by the asta vaidya families from South India who push more gurukula system for learning and make emphasis in tradition and esoteric aspects. I think the documentary you are going to film goes in that direction. Documenting your Daivi Asraya Cikitsa will show very nicely Ayurvedic cosmovision.

The other aspect is the academic approach represented by Ayush Ministry of India and other gubernamental departments like CCRAS (where I studied with Dr. Acintya Mitra disciple of the great Brahmananda Gupta who Dr. Samaresh introduced me, thanks to you).

We have more contact with that aspect of Ayurveda.

My goal is, since I'm introducing ayurveda in the medical university environment, is to make in the future Memorandums of Understanding with this institutions in order to get certification of the Ayurveda Training Accreditation Board - ATAB and with Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda - ITRA in Jamnagar Gujarat which is the Collaborative Center of WHO for traditional medicine.

This will create a high-level inter-institutional cooperation, giving us many opportunities, to present our perspective.

That is how I see the Ayurveda field for preaching.

Thank you Gurudeva,

Your servant,

Nikunja Bihari das.

HpS - Thank you so much.

Gives us 99.999% improvement on what we are trying to to do with/for you and Fernando in Chile etc. with this Tour.

I think Anantesvara Das is really pushing to show the Gurukula perspective even to the industrialized educators and state administrators, who really want the traditional thing as much as we do, so they can synthesize it with the current reality on their larger scale as you are doing.

More news coming.
