Please accept my humble obeisances. So, so sorry we didn’t come see you this time. There’s been a constant lack of communication from our godbrothers and godsisters in Richmond — they hardly ever tell us when you’re coming. The last 2 times, someone from DC usually let me know instead.

I was local, but I was in Leesburg for the weekend and didn’t find out until the day before that you were coming. My mom was working since it was the middle of the week, and she was also really sad we didn’t get enough notice because she can’t get time off from the hospital last minute.

Honestly, I feel like such an outsider in Richmond now. It’s as if I didn’t spend four years there and contribute to the community. I didn’t get invited to Subala Sakha’s daughter’s wedding, or the other girl’s wedding either, even though we literally lived together for a whole semester.

And every time I come there now, I just get asked why I’m not married yet, as if it’s somehow my own fault.

HpS - Maybe the winner is the one who gets married to Krsna!

It honestly feels like a very judgmental community sometimes, and one that lacks emotional awareness.

So it feels really discouraging going there now.

At this point, I mostly only go to Richmond to see you, which is why I’m especially sorry I missed you this time.

Someone else in DC mentioned you may be coming up here. If so, can we please host you? I’m about 20 minutes from the temple, and my dad will be here too. We've been doing a bhakti related events at the yoga studio I teach at. There is another studio in DC called Bhakti DC that has a Bhakti 101 type program that I'm also a part of. Lots of yogis that are exploring the sattvic side.

Haha, I’m finally making enough (monkey) money to be respected, I guess. I’m sending my mom back to Braj in business class — though honestly that’s mostly just me playing around with points and airline miles.

Also, my dog’s name is Ares, so it was funny you sent that Wonder Woman clip. It was a really good one. I took it to mean that love conquers all if we keep believing in Krishna — that maybe at the last moment, Krishna gives us all the strength and power we need to conquer maya and this world.
