Recuerdo a SS.

Vuestra eterna aspirante a sirviente

All glories to our Founder Acarya A C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda!

All glories to the sankirtana movement of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu!

Dear Gurumaharaja

Please accept our respectful bows.

Thank you very much for your merciful attention.

Last month we had the second celebration of the Deities of Mexico, one day HH Guruprasad Swami corrected us because we did not wear kurtas, the weather change was beginning slightly and Maharaja became worried. Also currently there is concern in some temples about some stains that could appear on the body of the Deity made of white marble due to the use of decorative paints, it has been a topic of discussion. Do you have an opinion on this?

HpS - Well, seems nice if we can wear clothes that are simple, like Dhoti and Kurta, and allow people to see us as offering something different in culture.

Yes, seems that staining the marble should be avoided!

On the other hand, in recent days speaking with a disciple of Śrīla Prabhupāda, he told me his impression of how currently, practitioners do not want to follow instructions in the performance of service, even if they are common sense and instructed by our elders. or authorities, this has led to the application of serious sanctions for compliance because sometimes not only is an indication not observed but also others are encouraged not to do so.

Why is this happening?

In the past, obedience and respect for our elders seemed more natural, nowadays everything has become more questionable.

It comes to mind, in the Book of Krsna Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that due to the demonic association that Kamsa had, he could not follow the good instructions that Vasudeva gave him so that he would not attack Devaki, and indicates that "those who accept the good instructions and try to live according to them, they are called demigods, and those who do not accept those good instructions are called demons", in the BG we also find this theme.

Also in the SB episode when the demigods and demons churned the ocean of milk, Krsna and the demigods stood on the side of Vasuki's head but the demons, due to their contrary, capricious and competitive attitude, thought that it was not glorious to be on the side of Vasuki. the tail and claimed that they were very advanced students of Vedic knowledge therefore they must have been on the front side, in this case the demons ended up being burned by Vasuki's many mouths with fire breath.

I remember SS. Yadhunandana Swami saying that when we read the scriptures we think that certain things are not for us because we are at a higher level, so although Śrīla Prabhupāda indicates this demonic nature for a certain sector, my question is how to address this ingrained nature that we still retain and What can we do so that the attitude of disobedience does not become normal? At first it is subtle but it takes over the mind, then it becomes coarse and progresses as an offense to the spiritual master, older devotees and Vaishnavas in general.

Thank you very much for your valuable time.

Please excuse the length of the letter.

Your eternal aspiring servant

HpS / ASA - Seems that what you describe is a natural result of Kali-yuga.

Senior people will not be qualified and so children, women, subordinates will develop the habit of thinking independently.

All we can do is to preach to them and try to show a good example of intelligent, moral authorities. A kanistha adhikari may not accept the authority of our words, but if we can cite relevant instructions from Sastra or previous acharyas, them some of them will accept.

If we do not value the instructions of deva dvija guru prajna - https://vedabase.io/es/library/bg/17/14/

then we are unfortunate. they want to feed us, but we will not open our mouths for the bread.

Any ideas from your reading the KRSNA book?

Any nice books you find?

Chant HK/HR and Krsna send nice people.
