Suggestion for a Distinguished Lecture Series on "Science and Vedanta"

Dear Guru Maharaj:

Please accept my sincere regards and obeisances unto you, NIOS, Srila Prabhupada, and all our Acharyas.

HpS - !!!! -[;0]/\___

As I am currently working as an Assistant Professor, faculty of Texas A&M University in the Kingsville, I have hosted and chaired conferences and facilitated seminars.

I have been working on developing a Distinguished Seminar Series on Science and Vedanta as part of my faculty position job. I have been developing this in collaboration with professors from universities in India and around the world.

In that role I wanted to request you to please kindly consider if it is possible for NIOS members to pursue an academic collaboration with the Texas A&M, Kingsville and Vedanta organization of this university, on establishing a Distinguished Virtual Seminar (webinar) series on Science and Vedanta.

NIOS members Amit Prabhu, Srinivas Acharya Prabhu, and Rama Giridhari Prabhu have expressed interest in this and are interested to form a sub-committee to create a proposal for such a seminar series and eventual conference.

If possible, I can work on developing a dedicated web page and posters. We can invite guest speakers on an online virtual meeting platform and host seminars and webinars all online with student and faculty participants from multiple universities across the world (South America, North America, Indian subcontinent).

This could later be extended to be a virtual conference with proceedings and publications, inviting faculty and students to present papers and publish their papers in the NIOS Solaris journal.

The reason I suggest this is because I have previously organized virtual conferences in which I am a local chair in the field of science and education and also part of a distinguished virtual seminar series hosted by my department, through which I gained experience in hosting these online.

NIOS has great many contributions and publications in the field of theology and religion and education, and this would be an effort to further extend these contributions into the science and education fields and disciplines.

Please consider this as a suggestion for a request to consider a possible academic collaboration between NIOS and Texas A&M, Kingsville.

Thank you,

With my sincere regards,

Dr. Ayush Goyal

Assistant Professor

Texas A&M University - Kingsville

HpS - Thank you, Sir! We hope that our ASA members who have interest and ability in these areas will join us.

I would say that, Yes, certainly we, HpS, ASA, can join and help. Go ahead with the NIOS committee and post some results and messages here are and we can develop it.

We are consolidating our efforts in "Science and the Vedas, Interfaith Dialog, The Bhakti-vedanta Library, World Classical Literature" through a series of on-line PPTX that we have done. They are being posted at our YouTube Channel - asa audio visual. The IFD are up and some others but I think the Science and the Vedas are not yet edited and posted.

These are areas where we can contribute, but as the dialog develops we might be able to contribute in other areas.

We look at ourselves as pioneers, researching possible areas of benefit in these dialogs. So, we did not go into great detail. That is for others.

So, please go ahead with the NIOS committee. Let us watch for the YouTube extracts of our, HpS/ASA, possible contributions, and if we can facilitate more please write again!!!
