Hare Krsna!!

We think Srila Prabhupada chose the term "Consciousness" because it was a term appreciated by the Hippies and other New Age people at the time of the formation of ISKCON and could also be related to our deeper traditional philosphy.

In Hindi ISKCON is like - Antarastiry sri krsna bhavan amrta sanga.

So Conscsiousness is Bhavan amrta.

Our senses and mind are engaged in Krsna's service and now our heart, intelligence. It is the next door neighbor to Pure Devotional Service.
